Justin Patton broke his right foot this time.

Post by WildWolf2813 »

Time to face facts, guys. I feel bad for the guy, but it's time to pretend he's no longer on this team. Not that I thought he'd be really good anyway, but he just can't be a viable option moving forward.

He's a non factor moving forward. Big men with foot problems don't pan out.

Such a shame...for him and the team. We're not exactly deep in bigs.

I wonder how he did it. Thibs just said last month that he would probably miss most of the fall recovering from his post-season surgery, so perhaps he was just working out on his own . Knuckle pushups couldn't result in a broken foot, could they :-o ?

Tough to pin this one on Thibs' drafting (although I acknowledge there were plenty of available big men at 16) as I don't believe Patton had any injury history in college or high school. No information yet on whether he will need surgery, but reports are February is a possible return month if he does have surgery. I feel bad for the kid.

Pickings are slim in the center free agent market, but you wonder if Thibs might sign somebody just as an insurance policy. The only guys I see not under contract are Lucas Nogueira and Marshall Plumlee, and it's tough to get excited about either of those guys.

Man that just sucks. This was a guy that literally not that long ago was out ballin wherever and whenever. He had no real injury history to worry about. Now twice he is just doing workouts (there seems to be legit optimism for him to be able to participate in training camp) and now this. He wasn't doing anything stupid just being a professional basketball player. Maybe it's not as bad this time but crap. It's shitty luck for him and this franchise. Good thing Noah is available right?? Lol sorry couldn't help it.

About the only way this is good news is he shows some good signs and we lock him into a dirt cheap contract and he recovers becomes healthy and vastly outperforms his 2nd contract kinda like an obviously lesser version of what happened with Steph. Yes that's a wildly optimistic take.

Dieng's value as a player to this team probably went up a little bit.

Can we just tear down Target Center already? I always thought the idea it was built on top of an old Indian burial ground was ridiculous, but it's getting harder and harder to deny the possibility!

Apparently the curse of Joey Two Step wasn't broken after all. He got both of Patton's feet.

Fake news. It's just an excuse to sign Noah.

I wonder how Iowa is gonna deal with this news.
