What a disastrous pick he turned out to be. He played soft when healthy and it turns out his bones are brittle too....Don't think he would have seen the floor much anyway this year.

I wonder how he did it. Thibs just said last month that he would probably miss most of the fall recovering from his post-season surgery, so perhaps he was just working out on his own . Knuckle pushups couldn't result in a broken foot, could they :-o ?
Tough to pin this one on Thibs' drafting (although I acknowledge there were plenty of available big men at 16) as I don't believe Patton had any injury history in college or high school. No information yet on whether he will need surgery, but reports are February is a possible return month if he does have surgery. I feel bad for the kid.
I wonder how Iowa is gonna deal with this news.

Noah to the wolves is all but assured now.

If you want to hold onto any shred of hope...and...we probably don't but Embiid an obviously more talented but also more troubling injury history didn't play his first 2 seasons. He is probably the exception but yeah. Anyway...
So his option for next year (2019) is about 3.1 million and the deadline for whether to pick that up is October 31. The current estimate of vet min salary (or cap hit) for a guy with 2 years or more is a little over 1.6 million. I still think Patton has some talent if he could actually be healthy but that's obviously an even bigger concern. I'd guess they pick it up unless there is some significant concern relayed to them by doctors beyond the obvious. There is a decent chance they will be looking at the lux tax though so Glen would be playing a few extra bucks beyond the cost difference of what he gets and the vet min salary. Should be mildly interesting to see what happens.

Thibs sucks at drafting (in addition to coaching and making personnel moves) Kuzma, John Collins, Jordan Bell, Jarrett Allen were available and Thibs chose the G**p.

Anunoby was also available. At the time, John Collins was my first choice and Anunoby my second. I would have taken Jordan Bell if over Patton if that were my choice and the Lakers spotted Kuzma. I certainly didn't predict Patton's foot problems and I'm not going to suggest that Thibs should have known, although I wonder if our front office did its full due diligence like bone density testing, which seems especially important for a 7-footer who had a late growth spurt like Patton. But you ultimately make your own luck. Patton was mediocre in G-League play when healthy last season. That's generally not a good sign for a player's NBA future.
I do feel bad for Patton. I hope he eventually heals and can stay healthy to pursue his NBA dream. When it comes to the Wolves, I'm more concerned about the upcoming front office meeting with Butler and KAT's intentions. And I'll keep looking forward to Thibodeau's last day with the Wolves organization.
