This would make me throw up.
I would not be in favor of a Bazz Wolves reunion.
Guess what though Bazz is "in the best shape of my life" again...lol I'm sure he is working hard but...

Unlike another Wolves player who will go unnamed you know you get 100% from Bazz... Even when it's to his or the teams detriment. I respect Bazz, which I never expected when they drafted him.
Butler? :-d :-d
Damn, I didn't think it would be that obvious!
Yes, you're pretty transparent :-)

Jackie Butler? I'm really impressed you guys remember him. :)

I would have signed House. He's a terrific talent with excellent length and athleticism to go with a potentially very good 3-point shot. I can see him having a breakout season. I would have liked signing Vince Carter. He's a veteran with the standing to call out Butler when he acts like a jerk instead of a leader.
At this point, I'd pursue signing Connaughton. I love his athleticism and he showed promise last season as a three-point shooter. He's still young with upside and would, I think, be a nice addition as a 13th guy. To fill our 14th roster spot I'd opt for either a 3-point shooting specialist or a big center. The best 3-point shooter among the still-available UFAs is probably Luke Babbit. There's an interesting collection of bigs still available, including Okafor and Greg Monroe. Other bigs include Tarik Black, Trevor Booker, Jack Cooley, Matt Costello, Joffrey Lauvergne and Lucas Nogueira.
I don't see Okafor signing with us because he'll want to sign with a team where he'd have a chance to get some meaningful minutes. With the Wolves he'd be competing with Gorgui as KAT's backup at center. I don't think that would be optimal for him. But I can see him playing with KAT and freeing KAT up to float more around the perimeter and take more 3-point shots. Greg Monroe is an intriguing possibility, but like Okafor, he doesn't play much defense.
I honestly don't know what Thibodeau is thinking right now. He must have a lot of confidence in our two rookies. Either that or a lot of free agents are saying no to Thibodeau. Then again, maybe Thibodeau has his eye on some Summer League guys who haven't playing in the NBA, although if that's the case you'd think he would have signed any such player already. The most likely explanation is that Thibodeau is waiting for what he sees as some potential releases or buyouts of player he prefers to the current crop of free agents. My concern remains that, thus far, the Wolves front office has done very little if anything to significantly improve the Wolves really bad bench from last season.

From what's I saw later House's deal is basically a camp deal so he may end up being available again. It probably depends on what happens with McCaw.
Joffrey Lauvergne signed somewhere internationally I think with a powerhouse Europe team. I liked what he did early in his career. The Dunc'd on guys (Danny particularly) are hilarious when they talk about how bad he is. I'm not sure why they think he sucks that bad but anywho.
Wolfson basically said on twitter after the Vince Carter signing that his take is Thibs and Layden are waiting things out looking for some other players to end up available. I'm not sure what guys they may be targeting but honestly at this point there isn't anyone I am dying to get in here thats available. I'm ok if they wait. When the debate is whether to pick up a productive backup center type, Vince Carter or Pat Connaughton or some MGH type...you can afford to wait and see what else happens. For example (we are aiming higher) but last year MGH was waived July 31 and was signed by the Wolves August 11.
They could be holding out hope that Nick Young signs for the vet min. For as whacky as he is and all that at this point he sorta looks kinda sorta good for that price because of his volume 3 point shooting. He is up there pretty high in the takes and makes per minute from 3. If he is a total disaster they would have enough space to sign someone else that they could cut him.

I actually agree that Nick Young makes some sense on paper.....but I don't know if there is a bigger piece of crap in the NBA than that guy. He is 95% flash and 5% substance....which is why he loved the LA lifestyle. Also why he probably failed with Warriors....they actually demand solid play. Love the volume 3 point shooting, but hate the person that comes with it.

Not even Luol Deng wants to see Luol Deng on the court any time soon.
As for Connaughton, I agree that there might be something there. He was in the rotation all year for a playoff team. But to be fair, his minutes decreased as the season progressed... and as Portland started to win more. Coincidence?
Re: Free Agent Watch
Wolfson brought up Brandon Paul from the Spurs who has a Guarantee date coming up on July 31. The Spurs have some other young players they may want to pay instead (Paul is 15th on the roster now) so he could be available. Wolfson has reported the Wolves were interested last summer.
I just watched some film on Paul and yeah he looks plenty intriguing for this tier of player. Nice looking shot not tall but has a long wingspan and plenty of athletic ability. He seems to play hard and doesn't just stand around. His shot looks good enough to be a volume 3 point shooter and he relocates even just a step here or there he doesn't just stand in one spot. He can handle the ball and seems to be a willing passer and can make some plays. HE seems to know what is going on out there often communication what to do while things are going on. I've been watching a lot of video on MGH and Paul looks better. He is moving to the top of my young mildly NBA experienced flyer types if he became available. I think Troy Williams may have been my top guy before he was signed but Paul may have jumped above him now especially in terms of fit. His theoretical skillset would fit well with what the Wolves need. Also his college 3 point shooting doesn't look very impressive. His shot and his ball handling looks more refined that what it looked like in d-league highlights that I watched so his 3 point shooting has a chance to be worthwhile.
