Wolves assets

Post by bleedspeed »

How would you rank the Wolves top 10 assets?

Here is how I would rank them.

1. Towns
2. Wiggins
3. LaVine
4. Rubio
5. 7th pick in 2017 draft
6. Dieng
7. 2018 1st rounder
8. 2019 1st rounder
9. 2020 1st rounder
10. Kris Dunn

Can't really say 2018-2020 draft picks are assets because we can't trade them because of the payne trade

The gift that keeps on giving. We better resign him. Willie Beaver and him are my favorite MN athletes.

If you put Dunn and Rubio on the market, Dunn would garner more interest and a higher return. No doubt in my mind.

Assets:
1. KAT
2. The March version of RIcky Rubio 2017, (MVORR17 for short)
3. Lipoli (close call though with MVORR17)
4. Wiggins
5. $30 million in cap space
6. Thibs
7. Jim Peterson
8. LaVine
9. 7th pick
10. Jeff Adrien (he'd come back to us in a second, I just know it!)

Liabilities:

1. Glen Taylor
2. The weather
3. State income tax
4. Trent Tucker
5. CJ
6-10. Anyone that dislikes MVORR17 - I believe there are only 4 of them.

Agreed

I'll add I think Tyus should be listed as an asset. He might be at the bottom of the list but I think he does have value around the league as a young (turned 21 a few days ago) cheap player that is more proven than a draft pick.

The main thing I take away from this thread is the Wolves don't really have any traceable assets they are likely to move that are too exciting except the 7th pick and I don't think that is gonna have enough value to make it worth moving it considering what another team will give you in terms of a current player.

My thoughts are if the 7th pick is worth more than a player of Rubio's caliber I would like to trade the pick for that player. I just don't see use finding that trade partner.

I did think about Tyus and Bjelica, but they sat outside my top 10.
