Realistic Trades for #7

I'm interested in thoughts on possible realistic trades for our #7 pick that your guys believe would be worth considering.

I don't see us looking to trade up, which means any realistic trades would be down. If it were up to me, I wouldn't trade down unless I get a good player in return who fills a need and was sure I could get a player I liked with the pick we get.

To get the ball rolling, here's one thought. #7 to Charlotte for #11 and Kidd-Gilchrist. I could see Charlotte coveting a player like Isaac or Zach Collins who wouldn't last beyond the top 10. Kidd-Gilchrist would give us the defensive wing Thibs wants in an age range that fits the trajectory of our team and at a reasonable salary with 3 years left. I think there would still be some very good players available at #11, including Markkanen, Anunoby, John Collins, J. Allen and Ike. Thoughts?

Pairing MKG and Rubio on defense? Great. On Offense? Not so much.

Depending on whether Thibs wants to draft a gem in round 2, Knicks trade 8 + 44 for #7.

If you trade for #11 and MKG, you'd have MKG in your rotation, but not necessarily as your starting SF or SG next to Rubio. And although MKG is a poor 3-point shooter, he's not a bad jump shooter and he can score on dribble penetration. He's also still only 23 years old, so there might be some more untapped upside there. If you draft Markkanen at #11 you add offensive punch and perimeter scoring to the roster, which makes the MKG piece of the deal more sensible.

Swapping with the Knicks doesn't make sense. It assumes we'd be taking a player the Knicks want. So doing the deal, we'd be foregoing the player we'd prefer to get the 14th player in the 2nd round. Doesn't make much sense for the Wolves.

I'd be for that trade.

I've long thought Denver was the most realistic partner if we picked 6-8. 7 for 13, 1 of their 2nds, and chandler or faried

How about #7, Lavine and Dunn for Paul George or Jimmy Butler? These deals would work best if you can bring in 2-3 FAs to help (Ibaka, etc.).

Is that too much to give? I think I would do either deal.

I wouldn't' do the Paul George deal. He has only 1 year left on his contract and has already indicated his desire to go to the Lakers. I'd do the Butler deal if Isaac, Josh Jackson, Tatum and Zach Collins are off the board.

Note that either deal would probably cut too much into our cap room to have a realistic chance of signing Ibaka.

7, LaVine, Rubio for Butler and Rondo would be more realistic in my opinion.

Malachi Richardson, Bogdanovic, 10 and 34

Barton/Beasley, Chandler/Faried, #13, Denver 2nd

MKG and 11

O'Quinn, 8, and a 2nd

I'd take any of these.

I would stay at 7 and hope Tatum or Isaac fall to us, but if not I'd at least consider trading 7 for Covington and Philly's first two second rounders in this year's draft or a pick in next year's draft (I think they have their own and the Lakers pick). Why Phily does this: Their board clearly wants to draft Josh Jackson if he's available and they also have Simmons, Luwawu and rights to Korkmaz, so Covington is in a depth position. They also have four second rounders.

Jimmy Butler is the only player I would trade it for, with the crazy league salary cap and contracts handed out along recently along with a strong draft class, I would rather keep the potential and rookie salary on the books
