High efficiency doesn't make you a stud when you are doing it as a third option. It makes you a good role player. Also, why would you pay max money to an elite role player? If you are paying the max, that guy better be able to come in here and challenge Wiggins and Towns for touches, not just be a secondary piece that plays off them.

Gobert is not one of Utah's top two offensive options either, but he's Utah's most valuable player and definitely worth the max. Draymond Green is the fourth option and one helluva "role player" and he's worth a max deal. Porter should definitely get the max.

You just named two top defensive player of the year candidates, is Otto even considered above average defensively?

How much you think the defenve woes were due to effort, or from not enough reps in Thibs system likely decides how you iew the reason we lost so many 2nd half leads...and and likely the main thing that

Yes, Otto is a decent defender (already above average) and improving (he's still 23 and improved every season so far). He would be a huge defensive upgrade over Wiggins at the 3, though if he were here, Wiggins would slide over to the 2.

OK, I'm done talking about Otto Porter.

The real answer is he holds his own and doesn't hurt you defensively, but you can't put him on the opposing teams best player and expect him to hinder that guy much. Doesn't hurt you, but doesn't really help you either should not even be in the same conversation as Gobert and Draymond.

Patrick Patterson has made zero impact this postseason yet we're on the short list of teams looking to pay him $18 mil a year.

Patterson for 18 mil better not be the answer. I'm with you there.

That's an insane price for him. Where did you hear this figure? I read an article that says his value is $12.5 on the high end.

If some team wants to pay Patterson a crazy amount, let them. There are enough free agents, that the patient teams will be able to get some useful players at bargain prices after other teams blow their wads.

Who are you, C.J.? First Harden's concussion, then his partying, and now a Dwight Howard sighting!

LST with the ownership connections, Lip with the front office insights, and Bloop with the gossip on the street. We have it covered here from top to bottom!
