Wouldn't you say PG play is easily the main reason for our 5-11 start?

we have all of these stats we are digging into but I think abe's point about not even getting 15 points a game total from the PG position is killing us, in the first half teams somewhat honor Rubio and Dunn's shot but once the second half hits like clockwork they are ignored and Kat and Wigs are constantly going against 2 defenders and we have a patented 3rd quarter meltdown.

Imagine what our record would be if Tyus split minutes with Rubio or Dunn, even if he'D only average 6 -8 points a game just the fact that someone actually has to honor his damn shot.

I think it's one of the reasons, but I don't think you can pin it all on them. A team can't fold up house defensively the second they struggle a bit on offense.

As for Tyus, it's good to see him play well. How would he look playing starter-level or near starter-level minutes? He'd go against tougher competition and get scouted more closely. Right now he's not even scouted by opposing teams. It will be interesting to see how this plays out since he's clearly made a case for more minutes.

They are averaging about 12 points per game in wins, which is about all I need to know. Clearly PG scoring wasn't a defining characteristic in those wins. And clearly we'd all like to see more production than that regardless.

I think having a PG who's shot is respected is more important than points overall from the PG position. I could live with Rubio and Dunn playing the bulk of PG minutes if they would at least draw a defender out to the 3 point line so our offense can properly run. It's not that I think Tyus is the future he just happens to be the only PG who can shoot on our team.

That's true Abe but just watching the game Tyus at least looks like he might actually pull the trigger. He has played some 4th quarter minutes so we have seen him play against some legit competition and when he was the backup he got some legit minutes. The reality is there is some talk of Tyus starting or being the scoring PG on this team says plenty about the other 2 guys. Tyus has played solid out there but other than Rubio's injury giving him a shot...it's disappointing that the other guys haven't buried him behind them. I do think Rubio has trended upward even though he hasn't played late in the game. Sam seemed like he protected Rubio's minutes some last year Thibs MIGHT be doing something similar or just going a different direction.
