Kevin Arnovitz has the recent profile piece on KAT: http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/18063065/minnesota-timberwolves-karl-anthony-towns-face-nba-big-man-revolution
And he was on the Zach Lowe podcast. Part of the extended discussion about Towns was around his ability to be "aggressively boring" in interviews. It's the polished vibe that q and I and others have noticed, too. Nothing earth-shattering (or necessarily bad) about this.
I just think that phrase works pretty well to explain what I was trying to convey. I still remember his first podcast interview from last season. It was like a 1-on-1 with Woj or somebody and I remember afterward thinking... that seemed pretty worthless.
Again. Not that important and pretty irrelevant overall. Just more of an observation than anything. I don't care if the guy spoke only in haikus that mentioned My Little Pony if it gets the Wolves to the playoffs.
Karl Anthony Towns... aggressively boring.

Nice article. The kid is going to be a beast, but right now his offense is way ahead of his defense. I wish Thibs would tell him to forget about his offense for right now since it seems like anything he sets his mind to and focuses on he is successful at. DEFENSE is what we need more than anything from him.

If you think Towns is bad, look back on some Russell Wilson interviews. That guy is the king of aggressively boring.

Don't get me started on that guy. He's probably out murdering baby kittens right now... right before he shows up at the local hospital.
With 74 camera crews who somehow found out about it and are simply waiting for his humble interview where he wonders why they're there to report on him being a super awesome person in every way.
