Wolves hire Stats gurus

Well this is something many here have been wanting more of analytics.

Wolves announce that Dwight Lutz and Nick Restifo have been hired to run the analytics department.

Wolves interviewed a bunch of candidates for analytics dept, including Sachin Gupta and Ben Falk from Philly. Lutz comes from NBA.

Restifo did writing for the great website NylonCalculus in the past.

Looks like a good move. I think they've had stats guys in the past; it's just a matter of how good they were and how influential they were. Hopefully these guys are very capable and given a level of influence that allows them to work collaboratively with the old school scout guys on equal footing.

A couple of tid-bits on Restifo....

He predicted 32 wins for the Wolves, which most of us would have ridiculed at the time he made it. Well, uh......may be he's kinda good.

Also, he believes Nerlens Noel is grossly undervalued right now. Mmmmmm.
