Minutes stuff. Defense stuff. Haven't actually read it yet... don't know if anything telling is here or not.

Re: KAT speaks with JJ Redick.
Towns: Yeah, I do. I think about it short term and long term. Obviously, short term: [I'm] 22 years old, I'm young, eager to play all the time, always so happy to lace my shoes up and go on that court, so obviously if I feel that I can help our team win, I want to be on the court as much as possible. For me, long term, is it probably the smartest thing? No. But you don't think about the long term, because you don't get to the long term without taking care of the short term. ...
Thibs makes his decisions; he's thought about it, and he's thought about it with other coaches, and they've come up with the decision that, "We need Karl to play ..." I think it's 35 minutes a game -- which is less for me than last year. Last year it was [37], now it's 35, so actually I've lost minutes. ... If anyone ever had a problem with the minutes, it's as easy as knocking on [Thibodeau's] door and talking to him about it and having a thoughtful discussion about it.

Re: KAT speaks with JJ Redick.
from reddit:
"KAT also mentions he really hasn't had a consistency with the system he plays under having a new coach almost every year since high school. Felt that he was equating that to having struggles learning and understanding the system under Thibs. We'll see if he can put it all together as the year goes on.
KAT also says something at one point about when they lose it's the players fault and not at all Thibs or the coaching. Says Thibs is the most prepared and has the team prepared for every game so it's up to the team to execute. Redick says he's doubted some game plans before which KAT responds by saying like "Thibs goes over his game plan several times with plans A & B in place so there's complete trust in that". I bet some of us in this sub would beg to differ with that."

Interesting interview. JJ does a really nice job. Towns seems really positive about Thibs. Of course, there's no way Towns is going to say anything negative in that setting.

It had some moments in the podcast that were worth listening to. I tend to think Towns praise of Thins is actually genuine. Why? He speaks about how intensely he goes over plays after each game how he analyzes his own plays good and bad and take a significant time to wind down from each game and he says for himself the game days are actually stressful. He puts so much on himself he doesn't seem like a guy that's goinf robbie blaming anyone else. On top of that someone like Towns who says he is OCD loves to get as much info as possible about every subject would probably love to have a coach as insanely detailed and prepared as Thibs.
Along the same lines I wondered...man Towns may need a player or coach or both that helps him chill out a bit or teach him how to process and decompress a bit so he isn't driving himself too crazy. I'm seen and heard signs of Thibs actually taking some things down a notch himself. Neither guys has to worry about their intensity it's more finding some balance.
Anywho this was actually good Towns had plenty of moments where he sounded more like a regular dude not his usual teachers pet although there is always some of that it seemed a bit more real espcially with JJ who was pretty good as well.
