Mmmm, you seem to say that every time Teague has a great game and Rubio doesn't, as if the opposite scenario never happens.

Teague has always had Walker's number for some reason. But it isn't just Teague. It takes a village to guard an elite PG because the bigs are so critical in how they cover PnR.

There probably isn't any shame getting benched for Mitchell. That dude looks for real and likely a better option defensively against the Houston guards.

Teague will be averaging nearly a double double after this game.

But that is my point. Rubio can be a liability in certain situations on both sides of the ball. My hope for him is that he finally gets picked up by San Antonio to be a backup. Which is how he would really shine IMO, where you could use his strengths at moments without having to rely on him when there was no way it would work, like against Houston's starters.

Teague is clearly the better man defender which is so much more important as there as a multitude of great scoring PGs in the league. We were constantly at the bottom of the league in opponent scoring from the point during Ricky's tenure. I know his cheerleaders kept saying it wasn't his fault, but it's no wonder that a player who you could write in for 30 against Rubio got shut down by a better man defender. It is easy to predict a losing matchup with Ricky, a better's dream. Athletic, scoring points feasted on him. I'm glad we finally stopped the bleeding.

We're ranked 29th in defensive efficiency and Teague has been outscored by 7 out of the 10 PGs he's faced. The idea that somehow he's been this big upgrade to Rubio on defense seems silly to me given the numbers. Yes, tonight we finally played some great defense as a TEAM in the 2nd half and Teague was a big part of it.

Right and that is something Ricky was never a part of against Walker. And it's 26th now ;)

Ricky consistently was destroyed by Walker, no way he could have done what Teague did tonight

My point is Mitchell is actually pretty good.

He's getting a lot of hype but he can't really shoot yet. He's a great athlete which seems to be a necessity now. But I think he is a legit player and potentially a starter in this league one day.

Was it Mitchell or Rubio that was embarrassed by Harden for 50+ tonight? I bet he would have only gotten 40 on Teague

Harden is great, but no way can you be a guard, have a reputation as a great defender, and get torched for 56. Your post is funny and for the record, I'm not trying to argue that Teague is a great defender. From what I've seen I do think he is a more capable man defender than Rubio though, and potentially a better team defender than Ricky too.

Im guessing this is in jest but Really what PG is gonna be able to guard Harden? Heck wings have a tough time defending him. Lol
