Take a look at a much better team, the Rockets. Eric Gordon makes around $12.4 million and Trevor Aliza makes a little over $7 million. Or how about the Warriors? Draymond Green and Klay Thompson both make less than Teague. Our core starters are Butler, KAT and Wiggins. Thibs has already made Wiggins a max guy and KAT will become a max player after that. Butler makes $19 million. $19 million per year locked in for 3 years is excessive for the 4th or 5th guy in your starting lineup. And I would bet that it will be a lot easier to move Gorgui's contract for decent value in return than it will be to move Teague's.

Some guys are just waiting to max up though. Your Draymond Greens, Klay and Butler will all be 35 mill guys in 2 years. (not sure what max will be but somewhere in that region).

Wiggins is outrageously overpaid for what he's giving now and projected going forward. As a bottom tier Starter (he's 23rd in SF PER and almost last in TS%) he should really be in the Teague range or below. It'd be wise to dump him if at all possible now that we have seen him turn into such a negative value.

That's exactly it Khans. It's replacement cost. We can replace G for a back up big that's a net negative cheaply. We can not get a top 15 starting PG cheaply. G's contract is so horrible because of the relative value for back up bigs in the league. It is nowhere near the negative impact of Teague.
