Sure on that play. What about the other plays where he gives plenty of effort in this game? Should we find video evidence of Rubio giving up on plays after being screened in the first few games of last year? Trust me it's there.

The issue Monster is this was like a few minutes into the game. I never recall Ricky giving up on plays in Q1.

Ouch...that's a clip remindful of the lazy Anthony Bennett pick of three years ago (remember?). So much in this quick glance at #0. We're ahead 15-10 in a bounceback game that we really need to win, yet he shows no effort at all. He matadors Towns' guy in a half-hearted attempt at help (nice on-ball defense by the way, KAT), and then stands flat-footed as his guy is left wide open...pathetic. I fear there is something going on mentally with Teague, because I have always looked at him as a hard-working guy. First, he pouts when Thibs takes him out of Game 1, and now this. Heck, he hasnt been great either, but just play Tyus if Teague isn't going to try...at least he'll put in the effort.

Botton line to date...5 games in, 5 times outplayed by the opposing PG. Not a prescription for success.

He should have been yanked immediately.

Not only outplayed 5 times, 4 of the 5 had their season high in scoring, with the other collison going for 16/15 ..

Something is going on, because I don't think Teague is actually that bad. His track record speaks for itself. Something is amiss with the team dynamics.....

Remember how Thibs got off to a rocky start with Rubio last year? It affected every aspect of his game. It was obvious to those of us that knew Ricky's game what the problem was, but this situation is a little less clear to me. Still, what the eff Thibs!? You didn't seem to have any problems coaxing solid PG play when you were the Bulls head coach! Things may have passed him by.....

Q sadly it happened last year. There was legit reasons almost everyone was basically ready to deal him for their favorite sandwich.

Like you said in another post Teague isn't really that bad. Keep in mind 2 years ago he played on the 2nd ranked NBA defense in the league. That doesn't mean he is awesome but he probably doesn't completely suck either.

I don't doubt Teague's talent either. It is still early, and the team chemistry just is not there. I've seen a lot of instances of frustration from Teague, as well as a few from Crawford and Taj. I try to keep in mind that these guys are all true vets used to playing with guys who have the fundamentals down, playoff caliber teams. I'm sure it is tough when two of your perceived best players are so young and obviously have a lot of work to do.

You've stated that Teague and Rubio are in the same tier of PGs, and I agree. I have held since the trade that it was the wrong move. The idea was spacing, but Teague is not a pure shooter. He's a scorer, floaters and midrange. That was my worry with so many of our players being frontloaded offfensively, I did not see the positive by bringing Teague here. Wiggins, Towns, Butler, and Teague can all (should?) get 15ish shots a game. That just does not equate.

Rubio feeding Butler/Towns/Wiggins in the perfect spots? That would have been awesome.

I still am iffy on the Butler trade, as I felt Wiggins and KAT were 2 years away from hitting their strides. This is showing to be true.

Rubio/Dunn/Tyus
LaVine/Crawford
Wiggins/Bazz
Belly/Markannen
KAT/Dieng/Aldrich

With still $$$ to spend on any big name in this last free agency, Redick, KCP, Miles, Ingles, Noel?. I like that team's balance much more than I like the current balance. Tons of room to grow, and a clear direction. Best young talent around, and every essential piece hitting their prime around the same time.

Hiring Thibs the coach wasn't terrible, but I did express concerns about him being too abrasive and that he would not connect with this team. That seems to be true. I thought handing him the keys to the entire franchise was a mistake. If I was Glen, I would give Thibs an ultimate. Choose coach or POBO, you cannot handle both.

That team would be 0-5 right now lol. Literally no defense outside of Ricky, G and Dunn again. It didn't work last year. Why would it work this year?

Khans -

I never stated that we wouldve been great this year. It just would have kept with a vision, rather than trying to mesh two separate visions together. As currently constructed, we have a 2 year window to convince Butler to stay. If Butler, Teague, and Taj bounce, then we took 1 step forward, to go three steps back. I'd prefer keeping a 5+ window open, and build to overtake the league when the Warriors have to choose to drop people and LeBron finally winds down.

Belly is not a bad defender. Ricky,G,Dunn,Belly > Butler, G, Belly defensively. Further, I mentioned that we still had plenty of $$ to spend on a player or two (i left Taj out, did keep Crawford). Would that team make the playoffs in this west? Likely not. Are we in a better position in 2-3 years? I'm certain we would be.

If Wiggins and Towns still aren't ready to compete in years 5 and 4, respectively... 70 years of NBA history tell us they won't get there.
