Gotta be Cool or Doper.....

Everyone has a right to their opinion. And KAT really was bad defensively last year.

It wasn't me but Jim Pete did say a couple of times last year that Thibs considers Wiggins the team's best player. He certainly shows a lot of versatility but him and Towns both have a long way to go.

I do think the great aspect of Towns and Wiggins is that their potential is very complimentary. They could each succeed in unique areas that fill a niche role that neither could replace.

I personally think KAT is far and away the more talented player. He makes scoring 25 points look easy and he does it with elite efficiency. The only guy I ever saw take KAT out of his game was Al Horford. Everyone else he pretty much schooled offensively. Heck, he already averages more assists than Wiggins, so even his play making is ahead of Andrew's.

To each his own though....No doubt Wiggins has a ton of tools to work with.

Again it wasn't me, and I really go back and forth. Basketball is KATs mojo for sure, he was raised by a basketball coach. But I feel that Wiggins could be world class at 30 different sports. And it's that unique athleticism that makes me not want to chose to rank one above another. My gut says KAT for now, as well as my brain. He is a better basketball player. But then I see Wiggins do something athletically with such ease, that I've never seen another player do before, and my heart wants to say Wiggins. Thank God they're both going to be on the team for a while.

I think Jim's angle when he has talked about Wiggins being their most flatbed player is twofold. One he think Wiggins deserves to be talked up because he sees people kinda dog on him. 2nd he sees Wiggins as being that guy that eventually will be the prime time scorer in crunch time more than Towns just because it's harder for a big even one as ridiculously talented as Towns to do that. He talked in the podcast with Jon K how Wiggins is more like Klay in some ways how he doesn't care about the spotlight and he didn't think Wiggins will have a problem fitting in with Butler which was something Jon asked about.

And I think that is the way Wig and KAT are ultimately complimentary. Wiggins more than anyone we've ever had on the Wolves can create a good look out of nothing. It's a great pairing for young talent. Uncertain like any young talents, but ideal compliments.

Oh hey and we have this Butler guy that's pretty good. :)

I agree completely, Q. And you neglected to mention KAT's 12 boards per game. To me it's not even close. Towns was better than Wiggins last year and will likely be the much better player in the future. That's not a put-down of Wiggins. It has more to do with KAT's talent.

I remember when Peterson made claims about Wiggins being the team's MVP last season.

It screamed of a team-directed quote...

I don't know if it was to motivate Wiggins... or Towns... or to sway public opinion about Wiggins or what. But it sure didn't seem rooted in reality.

Well reality might not be just what we see from our couches and seats at the games. The coaches and staff see unique things that we don't. I'm not fully sure what their logic was, but I saw Wiggins last year being asked to do a variety of unique things on the court. Maybe that was part of it.
