I'm going to laugh if Hayward ends up staying or going to Miami, and Boston stands there with no new stars because Ainge can't shit or get off the pot lol
This has been the mentality of many teams, Clippers are one to hold on too long. Ainge has so much talent but won't sell off on the youth movement because of pride it seems. And then when Thibs trades away talent fans get angry because we liked the lesser talent. GM position is tough. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I applaud Thibs making the tough decision, and Ainge will be booed if he doesn't. And this is why Jerry West is one of the best in the Industry.

Ainge seems like he will only do deals where he has the overwhelming upper hand. You have to give to get. Ainge isn't interested in evenhanded trades.
I thought Chris Paul would end up with the Spurs. Pairing him with K. Leonard made more sense than joining James Harden. But talent is talent and this will make Houston better, although I still don't see them challenging the Warriors unless they can somehow get another all-star caliber player. This was a bold move by a bold GM running the front office in Houston.
If they are thinking clearly, the Clippers should let Blake go. He's not a franchise player to build around, especially given his injury propensity. The best path for the Clipper would be to let Blake go and start their rebuilding process. They could put themselves in a position to emulate what Miami did when they brought LeBron and Bosh in to join Wade as a super team. The Clippers should pursue Paul George and LeBron -- two guys who would probably like to end up in LA (definitely George) and who might be persuaded to choose the Clippers and D. Jordan over the Lakers.
How does this Chris Paul deal potentially impact the Wolves? Hard to say, but here are some thoughts. First, it takes the Clippers down a peg or two and opens up an opportunity for the Wolves to not only make the playoffs but position themselves in the top 5. Second, it makes it more likely than before that one of two guys the Wolves are probably interested in, George Hill or Kyle Lowry, will end up with the Spurs. And if the Wolves can't sign Hill or Lowry, it will make it harder for the Wolves to sign Pattie Mills.
I think that Spurs probably didn't want CP3 with the 200 million contract. They are too smart organization and paying almost 50 million to 36 old injury prone point guard wouldn't have been smart.
