If the Wolves keep losing 6 out of 10 games we could be facing the Warriors or Rockets in the playoffs and be done in four games...
Good point. The Blazers are coming together. They were really impressive against the Warriors last night. The Nuggets are red hot and Millsap hasn't even returned yet. The Pelicans are holding up remarkably well since Cousins went down. They're only 3 games behind us in spite of all the injury issues they've had this season. The Thunder are only a game behind us.
Looking at the field, I think the Thunder will definitely pass us in the standings by the end of the season. If I had to bet, I'd bet that the Blazers and Nuggets also pass us in the standings. We have a chance to finish 3rd, but it's more likely we end up 6th or 7th. We need to at least finish 6th to have a chance at a first round playoff win because finishing 7th or 8th pits us against the Warriors or Rockets.
I really don't want to pick on anyone here but the pessimism about this team is a bit amusing. It's understandable Wolves fans would be resigned to things though. This team is 10 games over .500 and has that record while playing more games than anyone below them in the standings. Yes other teams are hot. Will they stay that way? Let's see. A couple weeks ago it looked like the Wolves had arrived. Now they have stumbled some and yes it's concerning. It's still a pretty good team that hasn't sustaining a losing streak longer than 2 games. They only have 22 games left. I'm gonna try and enjoy this run although I may end up not watching a few of the games.

It's the 10 game overreaction. It's our specialty here. It makes us think that Rubio can shoot, that Teague is horrible, that Thibs should be fired. This has been the place for emotional overreactions from an abused fan base.

Also we hold the tie breaker over every team chasing us (Portland has a chance to tie the season series). That is huge in the end. Everyone is freaking out for no reason.
we only have a 3 game lead over a spot in the lottery, I'm excited about the finish and think we will finish 4th or 5th but things are starting to get really tight in the West
