His shot has been terrible these last couple of games, but he has been amazing in the paint, straight attack mode. SO nice to see.

Once he plays a team that gives a damn about winning, they will realize that all you have to do is make him go left. I don't know why anyone would ever guard Wiggins squared up. He ALWAYS wants to go right and needs only a crack of daylight to get by people in that direction. When he goes left, it usually results in a tough pull up jumper or awkward drive that gets fumbled away more often than not.

It's funny... I probably tell my 5th grade squad to "make him go left" about 2,000x per week. Good to see grown men struggle with such a simple concept too. Makes me feel better.

I always like when people give me tips like that. A lot of people don't really utilize those basic scouting reports. I've been guilty also.

In college there was a guy that never went left and all but couldn't dribble with his left hand. People would yell at guys that he had no left hand. One night after someone yelled that he had no left he yelled back about nobody being able to stop him even with just his right hand. He was very fast a guy that was also a runner. If he got down hill on you in translation it was over. It was just funny he was and still is a supper nice guy.

Side note sometimes what happens with Wiggins is he gets down hill on guys and you can't recover with his speed, strides and length especially now he has added that push shot floater thing. Basically nobody on that King's roster has a chance. Better teams it's a different story.

I have seen teams overplay him to his right with very good success. He just simply has a much tougher time getting to the basket when forced left so he ends up settling for tough long to mid-range pull ups - probably the worst shot in basketball. The Kings and Bulls just didn't care enough to scout and guard him this way. Credit to Wiggins for taking advantage. He will burn people that allow him to get past them going right.

It could be just a subtle form of tanking, right? We know all about putting healthy guys on the shelf. Bad lineup combos. Having arguably the league's worst shooter take 7 straight three pointers...

Playing an opponent to their strengths (via intentionally or simply by not caring enough to scout) is simply a more subtle form of tanking.

That's why no matter what happens, the Wolves will at least finish above .500 for the first time in 13 years.

There was story I read this week that had someone in the NBA or used to work for a team said they thought there might be mission impossible like scouting reports and advanced data that tanking teams could use to be worse but that data would self destruct after the coach looked them over.

In the case of Wiggins in this game it's probably more about those guys not being good to begin with. Some teams don't need much help to be bad. The Kings didn't really start the year with much of a SF to begin with and it hasn't gotten better.

Re-watched this one. I don't think we appreciate how big Nemanja Bjelica actually is. He's listed at 6'10, 240 lbs and when he's standing next to Taj Gibson he definitely looks bigger. I'd say he's probably around 230 right now, but still, that's a big human being moving around at the SF position and he's rather nimble on the perimeter.

He also makes a ton of intelligent basketball plays that the casual basketball just might not recognize. He also uses his length advantage to tip passes on defense or mix it up down low on the glass, which is certainly helpful. Additionally, his three-point shooting and constant movement off the ball, whether screening or making himself available as a spot-up threat, has helped our spacing and I think it's a legitimate reason why Jeff Teague is on a good run as of late.

He's not Jimmy Butler, but he doesn't need to be. He plays a rather simple game despite being a pretty skilled player overall. And while he's not the most athletic guy, he actually seems to be a decent defender. He's got that Joe Ingles, Larry Bird defense. Just gonna try to get to the spot before his opponent does, play their strengths and weaknesses, and get a good contest on the shot. In this game against Sacramento, they tried to go at him numerous times either in isolation with Buddy Hield or Justin Jackson, or in the pick and roll, and Bjelica did a fine job.

I just finished typing this and decided to look at the box score from this game. He finished with a team/game-high +22. He gave us 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3P), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and just one turnover. That's a fantastic game from your role player. Kudos to Belly. His ability to start and do what he can in Butler's place is going to be a make or break factor in how this team finishes the season.

Also, I think De'Aaron Fox is going to be a stud in this league. I get Mike Conley Jr. vibes when I watch him.

Out of all Wolves players to log more than 800 minutes so far this season, Andrew Wiggins has the worst free throw percentage of all of them at 63.6%.

That continues to be the most unbelievable stat for this season. We could talk about Towns shooting above 40% from 3P-range, or Teague SUPER QUIETLY averaging 13.5 PPG, 7.0 APG, 3.0 RPG, 1.5 SPG on 44.4 FG% and 37.6 3P% shooting, but no. It's Wiggins' poor shooting from the line that has me confused. I just don't get it.

It's weird. There isn't much else to say. He has been streaky in the past even at the line but it's really strange that he can miss so many shots so closely. I've never seen a shooter whose multiple misses look good both at the line and from 3. If he keeps his shot distribution close to the last couple of games he has the door to efficient scoring, now he has to walk through and start hitting free throws and one or two more 3s a game. It is confusing.
