Spurs v Wolves GDT

Post by thedoper »

One Wolves killer out tonight.

http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0597866517412977265-4Parker will sit

Thought it was worth starting an early GDT with this news. I'm pumped for this one, just to see what kind of fight the kids will bring.

I -- we -- need this one. Spurs didn't look all that good last night against the Bucks. Hopefully with some tired legs for the Spurs, and being at home, and with our guys coming off a feel-good win, maybe we can get the upset.

The line is at SA -4 so we should at least have a close game... or so we hope.

Yeah, knowing Pop and his understanding of the importance of "the season" I wouldn't be surprised if Parker isn't the only one who sits tonight...they are in the midst of 4 games in 7 nights, and I just don't think Pop cares about their undefeated road record. I'm really looking forward to this one regardless of who plays, and I actually might be inclined to take the Wolves plus 4 banking on at least one other player beyond Parker sitting. Should be fun at TC tonight.

Well, we've played a number of teams this year missing key guys and it didn't matter. And it especially doesn't matter with the Spurs. Mills might be their 3rd best player this year. Parker is becoming a starter in name only. I'm sure they will clinically take us apart tonight, as we've seen so many times before.

It is beyond frustrating for me when our offensive possession is pass to Wiggins, take two dribbles and jack up a contested shot. Why can't he get his teammates open looks like get got for Zack for that stand still open 3! Too simple I guess and part of the maturation process. I saw a stat today about Klay's game last night. He scored 60 pts in 29 minutes, had the ball in his hands for a total of 88 seconds, took 11 dribbles all game. That's ball movement. Zack should be getting more stand still open looks but his teammates refuse to pass. Hopefully that will come.

LaVine needs more plays ran for him than what he currently gets. Run him off screens to create jump shot opportunities like other premier shooters -- J.J. Redick and Klay Thompson namely. He can get hot in a hurry.

Whoa, is it the apocalypse, or did I just agree with you?

(both actually)

One of the things that Klay and JJ are masters at are moving without the ball and knowing how to react to how the defender reacts to the off ball screen. I'm not sure LaVine really understands these nuances yet, but there is no question he has the potential to get more catch and shoot opportunities - part of that is on him though.
