Wolves vs Celtics GDT: well rested for the final run
Re: Wolves vs Celtics GDT: well rested for the final run
Wiggins can't score and KAT can't defend. Our future ain't looking so bright.

So who can we get with the 14th pick?
Re: Wolves vs Celtics GDT: well rested for the final run
Lost for a lot of reasons. Our young guys didn't step up. Crawford shot us out of it.
But Belly was special and it is going to suck when we lose him this offseason. Also Taj has been so damn good this year.

I also want to say man it is going to suck when we are the 8th seed and the Thunder make the playoffs and we don't get a draft pick then. That will hurt. (I am only half joking, just venting)

Yep. In typical Wolves fashion, the Wolves will play themselves back into the lottery, while Belly plays himself into a big contract the Wolves can't afford given what we're paying Wiggins, Butler, Gibson, Teague and Gorgui.

Actually, the little bit of good news is that we get the OKC pick if they make the playoffs.

Yes, it looked like KAT was limping. At one point he was sitting at the scores table while his teammates were standing on the court. It looked like he was trying to stay off his leg, but I a't be sure. He was bad defensively tonight as was the entire team. As Jim Peterson has pointed out a number of times, it's hard to look good defensively as a big inside when your perimeter defenders aren't containing penetration. Great defenders can overcome that to some extent, but KAT unfortunately is far from a great defender at this point in his career. But he did battle consistently hard on the boards and with the ball in the paint. He was hit and held constantly with no calls again, which is getting beyond ridiculous. Nevertheless, as I mentioned in my game report, the only Wolves worthy of praise tonight were Belly and Taj, although I'll give Tyus credit for some pretty hard-fought, tenacious defense.

Wiggins was unwatchable tonight, although he made a couple nice passes out of double teams and had a couple nice drives early in the 1st quarter.

I just looked at the box score and read this thread.
Heck of a game for Belly. The good news is if the Wolves want to keep belly they can he is a RFA. There simply isn't a ton of money out there the most he will be offered is the full mid level and the Wolves can probably afford to do that relatively speaking if they want to. The Wolves can approach him with a nice but not full midlevel deal and I wouldn't be shocked if Belly takes it. He doesn't seem like a guy that cares about getting every dollar and just wants to ball.
