I was amazed at Ryan Anderson's shooting last night. This is a guy who could have been had for basically nothing in the offseason except taking on his contract. How much better would we be if we had him over Crawford? His shots seem to be magnetically attracted to the middle of the hoop. He's fun to watch.
Well...Anderson makes 5x more than Jamal Crawford it's not like we coulda just been like yeah we can take him. I was one person that would have considered taking Ryan Anderson this offseason but he is making a bunch of money the next 3 years. We need Belly to keep jacking up 3 point shots AND the Wolves both as an offense and players feed him looks from downtown...and he needs to be resigned.
- Anderson has been a bit of a disappointment this season. And he still can't guard anybody. But he is shooting 12 - 23 on three pointers vs. the Wolves this season... including 10 - 15 in the past two games.
- So after that jump ball... the cameras caught Thibs going crazy "That's our ball! That's our ball!" Now... that seemed a bit off considering that it would have been a jump ball at most. Sometimes, he seems like he's going crazy without having a leg to stand on with his argument.
- One VERY telling play that shows the difference between the decent/good teams and the very good teams... at the end of the 3rd quarter... the Wolves had the ball with 40 seconds left... 2-for-1 opportunity. Jones passed to Dieng and he was fouled. YES! Nice job there, Wolves.
But wait...
OFF A FREE THROW MAKE... Houston made two passes (0 dribbles) and got fouled on the other end on a layup attempt to steal back the 2-for-1 opportunity.
1) Great by them.
2) Terrible for the Wolves to let that happen... off a free throw.

Idk about this game but I've heard and read a number of folks that have said Anderson has been a better defender this year. I thought his ability on that end earlier in the year in games I saw he looked better especially against perimeter players keeping him in front of him. Regardless he would be the best volume 3 point shooter (and one that just lets it fly) on the Wolves if he was here which...says probably more about the Wolves roster than anything. I'm not making a case that he is amazing or even good just that he may have a bit more value towards winning in general than at first glance. Obviously he is vastly overpaid but he can play and is worth a chunk of his salary and his strengths fit the way the game is played now. Plus they have lots of other options to go to if his defense is exposed in the playoffs. That roster is built pretty well.

Yep. The Tucker + Luc Mbao a Moute moves really helped them.

Couldn't we have sent them some salary? There's always more than one way to skin a cat.

If Anderson can't guard anybody, who was that imposter wearing his number last night? Whoever it was did a hell of a job.

Sure, like you said everybody had a shot at that guy for just taking on his contract if they wanted him but nobody did. They wanted to get out of Andersons salary so its not like they wanted much coming back. If Glen would have willing to go into the Lux tax down the road to bring on Ryan Anderson we are gonna be in great shape because there will be some good players available for relatively low prices going forward. I've always been a fan of Anderson.

There are teams that can play Anderson off the floor. Teams that have... and do... play Anderson off the floor.

The Wolves aren't one of those teams.
He's averaged over 28 minutes per game as a reserve since he got to Houston. They certainly aren't hiding him.
