Wolves vs Memphis GDT
Wolves are favored by 15.5. The Wolves might have 2 wins all year over 16 points.
End is near and another sort of must win. (though in a way they only have to beat the Nuggets I think to make the playoffs). But if they want a chance at higher then 8 they better win both!!!!

Perhaps more importantly, OkC is only a 3 1/2 favorite in Miami tonight...as many of us have noted, an OkC loss is huge for the Wolves. Unfortunately, the Pelicans are listed as an 8 1/2 point favorite in LA tonight...I guess they're expecting Doc to empty his bench now that they are out of the running. That surprises me, because Doc said publicly yesterday that in order to "protect the league" he owed it to the NBA to play his starters tonight and try to be the spoiler. Let's hope he is a man of his word...if Lou Williams is hot, and upset is possible.

To be fair, as I noted in another thread last week, with all the Clippers injuries this season... Doc has been emptying his bench, scouring the D league and grabbing unknowns off the street for months now.
It's amazing that team finished above .500.
Doc is annoying. And probably a terrible GM. But he might just be a solid coach ... when he's engaged.

The Grizzlies have 8 guys out tonight. If we lose just forfeit the season and fire everyone.

I heard he is even throwing his son on the court!

Re: Wolves vs Memphis GDT
Whew.
Gasol (21/7/5) and Evans (16/5/9) keyed that first Memphis win.
Gasol (201/10/6) and J. Green (11/11) and W. Selden (23 points, outscored entire Wolves team in 4th q) keyed that second Memphis win.
As for the Wolves in the two losses:
Player A -- 7 - 19 fg - 11.0 ppg.
Player B -- 5 - 20 fg - 7.5 ppg
Hint: Gasol has DESTROYED Towns this season. Him being out shows how serious Memphis is taking this game.

That would explain the huge spread. Even if Memphis is tanking it's not that easy to win by 16 or even win at all like we saw last game. But with them sitting many players this should be an easy one. Should being the key word.

Re: Wolves vs Memphis GDT
So Memphis is sitting 8 of its top 9 players?
And only one player who's played more than 5 games this season averages more than 7 points?
Rookie Dillon Brooks averages 10.6 ppg.
Yikes. We might even see Justin Patton tonight.
[Note: It's weird to write... but I'm going to find it VERY difficult to watch the Wolves on a night when they can actually clinch their playoff berth in 14 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Madsen shows up in a Grizzlies jersey to brick a bunch of three pointers in a few hours...]

Re: Wolves vs Memphis GDT
The real question is which no-name player from Memphis gets super hot from beyond the arc and keeps them in this game? Cuz you know it will happen! There is always a player or two whose eyes light up when they come to Target Center and the hoop seems a thousand times bigger when playing the Wolves.

Well...Kobi Simmons and Marshon Brooks combined for 45 points in 58 Minutes on 16-24 shooting in their last game against the Pistons. Memphis has some guys playing for their jobs and their careers. Memphis shot 33 three's and hit 16 of them in that game.
