Re: Wolves impale the Celtics GDT
And you still wouldn't rather see Bazz start over Wiggins? The Celtics had 18 more shots then the Wolves thanks too of course, no rebounding from Wiggins. Taj is probably dead tired from the minutes he's been playing (very little rebounding from him) and Butler is getting worn down from driving the lane 20 times a game (very little rebounding from him).
Watched the Jump from yesterday and again they (Jackson) ripped Wiggins again. Anytime the Wolves are mentioned on ESPN they bring up sucky Wiggins.
So he can't shoot, can't defend, can't assist, can't rebound and doesn't give any effort. Sounds like a crappy version of Bazz to me.
Where are these Wiggins fans at? I knew if you ever traded one of them you trade Wiggins, no LaVine.
P.S. When I say start Bazz it's not that Bazz is good, it's taking another shot at low effort Wiggins.

WolvesFan21 -- I've reached a point where I'd like to see Bazz start over Wiggins if just to send a message to Wiggins. You make a good point that Bazz over Wiggins would improve our rebounding. It would also raise the overall energy level of the starting five. As you said, it's not because Bazz is particularly good, it's just in response to the repeatedly lackluster efforts and poor production we're getting from Wiggins.
By the way, there's no doubt in my mind now that we should have traded Wiggins rather than Dunn and LaVine for Butler. Dunn is playing really well and if LaVine picks up where he left off he'll be terrific.

While I absolutely do not want Bazz starting in place of Wiggins, I'm not sure what you saw Monster in the first half. Wiggins went 0-7 in the first quarter. He was terrible, short-arming literally every shot.

But it's why we lost! Wiggins along with a lot of other players couldn't make shots. But he was especially awful! Again, I agree Bazz isn't the solution here, but at this point we are talking about who is the less bad player. By almost any measure, Wiggins is a below average starting wing. Hell, I'd take Tatum or Brown over him at this point!

My point was Wiggins was doing all the other stuff people have been wanting him to do much of the first half. It's worth noting especially when people are suggesting Bazz play because of Wiggins lack of effort.

I don't get why you vehemently defend him. There was no instance last night where he played well. He ended the game with 3 rebs and 1 ast. He was constantly out of position on D, and is glued to the floor on offense. Nothing from him was positive.

Re: Wolves impale the Celtics GDT
I wish Wig's play was defensible this year, but it's not. He doesn't engage physically. He will not dunk the basketball. His outside shot is broken. And i have no idea what's going on at the free throw line. But though you can't defend his overall play, we should bring a little balance to the pitchfork nation here. Let's be honest, he really isn't a part of the offense until things break down and he gets a rare touch. At that point he's almost forced to look for his offense. Do you ever notice that he never touches the ball on the first possession of the game, save for last night? Sometimes he will literally go the first 3-5 minutes before he touches the ball.
His defense is better this year. He's getting around screens better. He's anticipating a little better. He's getting his hands on more balls. He's going after rebounds a little harder, there just aren't as many to get with KAT gobbling up everything and Butler being added to the mix.
He's quickly approaching the fork in the road. He's either going to start playing differently (and better), or he's going to remain an enigma who never comes close to his potential. If the latter happens he will probably eventually end up someone's 6th man in a role similar to what Crawford plays for us. Either way, i expect to start hearing chatter about his dissatisfaction with his situation. If he starts playing better his agent is going to start squawking about his role on the team. If his play remains as it is, you're going to start hearing rumors about getting a fresh start someplace else, and about co-existing with Jimmy.
I understand the mentality of Joe Blow sports fan. It makes you feel better to have a scapegoat when you lose a game. And it's always only one player's fault. That's how you justify the loss and move on to the next game. I totally get that and don't blame you for the frustration. For the few of you who can be objective without letting emotion always rule your thoughts (Q, Monster, LST, SJM, Kekgeek, Doper) I commend you.

Your post is why I make posts like the ones in this thread. No mention of his 2 blocks in this game. There is rarely positive mention of Wiggins when this team holds teams to 20 points or less in the 1st quarter and in this game Wiggins defense was really good in that quarter. Is he a max player? No probably not at this point but people here act like he is freaking minimum contract Wes Johnson. Wiggins is at least a 28-30 mins wing in the NBA. That's the reality in a league that still has a lack of legit impact NBA wings. I think Cool's post was really well said that's where's a I am at but this BS about Bazz should be starting over Wiggins drives me crazy. People somehow lose perspective on players especially when contract comes into play.
