Lillard Doubtful Tomorrow

Still working through his ankle injury. I'll take anything we can get at this point.

I know how much you dislike the Blazers, cool, and we all want to see if the wolves can build on the mini momentum they seem to have going right now, so that news makes me happy. It would be yet another example of the incredible luck the wolves have had this year in avoiding stars on the other team...yesterday was yet another example with 2 starters, albeit not their best ones, out for the Bucks. We deserve some luck like this after years of being the injured team. Unfortunately it makes our 11-22 start just that much more disappointing. I would venture to say that if we knew before the season began how healthy we would be and how banged up our opponents would be, given the choice of 22-11 or 11-22 in our first 33 games, a majority of us would have joyously selected the former. Just another sign of how underachieving we have been...smh

LST, I totally agree with all that. But one thing I believe about durability is that it's a skill. Not in the traditional sense, but players who demonstrate durability generally are consistent with it. Of course a lot of injuries are bad luck or misfortune, but the misfortune seems to follow certain players. I think it's a very good sign that our young stars have stayed healthy. I think it bodes well for the future.

So I tend to look at our good health more as a reflection of who we are, than just a lucky streak.

I couldn't agree more...I don't think the great health we have had this year is an aberration...I think it's who these guys are, and that's a very good thing for the future of this franchise. Yet another reason to hold tightly onto our Big 3.

My comment was directed more toward the string of games wherer we have been lucky to have one or more of our opponents' starters out...and often their best or second best player. I would estimate that a starter has been missing in 75% of our games, and that a star (or stars) has been missing in 75 % of our wins. That's good fortune. And it's disgraceful that we are 11-22 with all that good fortune.

Just a question, I agree with you the wolves have been lucky, but why do we take so much into the wolves going 10 and 10 in the last 20 games of the Mitchell era when 6 of the 10 wins came when the opponent was missing there best player

I hope Lillard plays. I want to see how we do against Portland with their top players suited up.

Well, with Lillard out Blazers will play better defense and CJ will get more shots. I don't see much of a drop off. Lillard missed games last season as well and they didn't fall apart then.
