Re: Guys we gave up on too soon
I just went back about 20 years and didn't find but a couple names of guys that had decent post Wolf careers: Chauncey Billips (already noted by Bloop) and Al Jefferson. I'm not sure Jefferson would really fit the definition of guys we "gave up on". I think other guys being noted i.e. Kofous, Kilpatrick etc. would fit the definition, but as stated by Bloop - they didn't turn into world beaters. I guess that's good as it's no fun watching someone blow up after leaving your team. But I guess it's a little surprising we haven't had more examples of guys we gave up on that excelled afterwards. The draft/picks we gave up is a whole other story though as others have noted.

Howard Eisely was a solid NBA player that would have been nice to have kept around.
Luc Lonely was never great but he would have been better to keep around than some of the other Centers the franchise had over those years which isn't saying much but still.
