Maybe...but today he looks like a carbon copy of the Rubio we already have. 8 points on 37.5 shooting, 9 assists and disruptive defense (3 steals)...the kid is very good, and his stats today couldn't be any more Rubioesque. The only thing about his game that doesn't look like Rubio is the 4 turnovers, but TOs have not been a big problem for Lonzo so far (although he does seem to have more when he faces better competition) I like Ball a lot, but I also like Ricky, and I think Ricky is the best projection I can make for Ball.

Could be...nbadraft.net just moved him up to #1. He's shooting better than Ricky so far (although not today), but as you pointed out his form is so unusual. He hasn't had the reputation of being a shooter before the start of this year, so I just don't know if his early success is sustainable. He's a great distributor and defender, though, so I don't see him falling out of the top 5 even if his shooting comes back to earth.
Wow. I'm surprised he's number #1, I think he'll definitely be anywhere in the top 5 for sure. But as Cam mentioned awhile back Fultz I have a feeling with be #1 with his combination of size, athetiism and shooting ability. But it's so early, hard to say. I've yet to see Fultz play. Appears to be a very good class. Leaf is a very good looking player as well.
Comparing Ball vs Rubio...I haven't seem Ball play other than somehighlights etc and I saw a couple highlights where Ball was taking ridiculous deep 3's and making them...in a game. I'm not suggesting the guy is gonna be an awesome 3 point shooter, but right now I would HAVE to project him as a better shooter and scorer than Rubio. That's not really going out on a limb though is it? Ask me what I think about Ball in February.
Saw Ball for the first time today and that shot is really something. I don't know how anyone ever taught him to shoot the ball right handed from his left ear hole. He seems like he can make it a decent amount but boy are some of his misses just bad.

That has to have been taught by the dad. All three of the Ball boys have fucked up mechanics.
