Call up Orlando... Sacramento... and Los Angeles NOW!!!
Magic Johnson is now in charge of the Lakers.
Strike while the iron is hot. I think he's going to be a trainwreck.

Interesting. It's a. It of a shock in a way but shouldn't be too surprising. To me the question is who does Magic surround himself with and...will he listen to them? Whoever was making the decisions the last few years was able to pick out some worthwhile players later in the draft and that's not insignificant. This was the first year post Kobe and they spent a bunch of money on guys that don't look like they are going to help much especially relative to their salary.
If Magic sticks to being a smart business guy and hires some good people it could work out great. We will see. There is some level of arrogance to him that makes you think he could easily crash and burn like you said.

100% strike now, every time I listen to him or see him tweet I think what the heck is he talking about.

I haven't paid enough attention to Magic as a commentator to know how good his modern day basketball chops are.
What I do know is that we often see "former greats" end up being shitty GMs or coaches because they can't or aren't willing to adopt to contemporary best practices and work ethic. Instead, they get by on their reputation and name instead of putting the work in to learn, change, and get smarter. Phil Jackson is a perfect example of a guy that became too full of himself and didn't adapt. If Magic is anything like that, yes, we should be doing everything possible to take advantage of him!

Remember, Michael Jordan turned down the #16 pick in the 2016 draft, this years' Brooklyn pick (top 3), TWO more #1 picks and TWO 2nd round picks...
... to stay at #9 last year and draft Frank Kaminsky.
EDIT: Add Charlotte to the list!

So...who or what are you calling up and trying to fleece Magic out of?

How long until a national guy creates a fictitious trade involving Luol Deng?
"Yes. I know the Wolves could have signed Deng and/or Noah last summer... but Thibs just wanted to see both flop miserably before agreeing to take on their contracts as they age even more."
The problem with Magic is I think he's going to overpay for a flashy move... a star. Or potential star.

Fournier would be nice Zach insurance and is a good bench option as a 6th man.
