Cousins traded to Pelicans
Re: Cousins traded to Pelicans
Davis and cousins together. That is the best and most skilled frontcourt in the league today. Their games actually compliment each other very well. Jrue holiday when healthy is a very capable starting pg. if they can sneak into the playoffs they would give the warriors a tough matchup.
The kings are a joke. Vlade divac and the owner are insane.

You're all forgetting there is a reason Cousins was available.

Not being able to trade the pick is the bigger thing for the wolves and they can't do it during a season until 2020 at the earliest if the wolves make the playoffs next year
all because Flip had a crush on Adreian Payne. Go figure.

Maybe.
We're about to find out if it was Cousins or the Kings front office that was more to blame. I've been very vocal with my opinions about Vivek Ranadive. I think he's an idiot. That opinion doesn't change with this.
The Kings are a mess. No other way to put it.
Unless Cousins' agent is full of it... why? Now?
Cousins wanted to stay. OK. Then pay him. And trade him over the summer for full price. As it is now... the Kings trade him for $.40 on the dollar because the Pelicans don't know for certain they'll resign him. Just another in a series of bizarre moves from the worst front office in the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised if Vivek is removed mysteriously.

You are correct and they are one Holiday injury away from starting Frazier, Moore and hill

Makes Kahn look decent, sort of

Wow, this is the best deal the Kings could get for Boogie? Makes me think he's even a bigger cancer than he appears if they let him go for this.
I actually like this for the Wolves slim playoff chances. The Kings are pretty much done, and it may take time for the Pels to gel, if they do at all.

Yep. In my opinion, the only crazy thing the Kings did was drafting this nutcase in the first place. I sense there is a lot of relief in Sac-town this morning.
Re: Cousins traded to Pelicans
Unbelievable
I thought it would take more than that no doubt.
Can I make a sad attempt and making sense for the Kings? Ok I'll try.
Heild could give them the SG they thought they had a few times including when Ben Mclemore dropped tonthem and has been a big disappointment. The guy hasn't lit up the league but he can shoot and it's a shooting league now.
2. It's a PG draft and if the Kings tank (losing Cousins means they are gonna SUUUUUUCK) they will have a shot at 1 or more of the PGs in this draft with a couple picks. With all those picks they could even looks to trade up to get a guy they feel is the star guy they want if they aren't high enough.
3. They have a bunch of young bigs already. Are any of them any good? Idk but they are stocked with young options and WCS was playing well for a few games.
4. There may be a wing or wings in this draft they think could be their SF going forward.
5. Cap space. I am not sure who they would be able to sign or absorb that would be a difference maker but they will have it.
Could the Kings go on a fire sale now dealing any vet player possible for picks? It could get interesting.

This says all you need to know about Vivek Ranadive...

Stay to the end. I saw that entire episode. It's the earliest signs you see the train accelerate on it way to a horrific trainwreck. I swear you can see Chris Mullin decided instantly to leave the Kings the moment Vivek forces the entire front office to welcome Nik Stauskas with a super duper awkward "Nik Rocks" cry. Even Stauskas was embarrassed.
Remember, this was around the time Vivek was trying to find support for his 4 vs. 5 defensive approach with one cherry picker standing on the other end... I know Cousins has issues. But I don't think people realize how exacerbated they were in Sacramento with the likes of Vivek in charge. Imagine David Kahn with even more clout... that's the KIngs.
