Well there was a recent article from espn saying how Glenn Taylor would like to see Ricky's shooting get better . Does that matter to you as much as Wiggins rebounding becuz of where the concern came from?

Can I go out on a limb here and suggest that we'd all agree with Glen that we'd like to see Ricky's shooting get better?

Much like we'd like Wiggins rebounding to improve as well. The difference being it's far more likely that Wiggins becomes a better rebounder than Ricky a better shooter.
My point is that it's no more obvious to be disappointed and concerred with Wiggins faults than it is with Rubios.

Know this, we do.
That looks about right, you guys read what you want to and dismiss the rest.
People cannot even have a conversation about another player without you sharing your Rubio love. I see a thread about Lavine with the most recent post by Pork, I figure the odds are better than 50/50 your post will have a Rubio angle.

Funny thing is there's been threads upon threads about Ricky lately , many people obsessing over him and I've been almost nonexistent. I've been pretty consistent with my issues with Rubio and it's as much about how fans give him more leeway than they ever have with any other player probably in the history of the organization but quibble over the faults of much more talented players even tho said players are younger and still getting better.

Can you name another player in Wolves history whose game had one major fault, but whom excelled in all other areas and made his teammates unquestionably better when he's on the floor? Serious question, I don't know the answer.
I think most of us love Rubio because of his flair for the dramatic on offense. During his time in Minnesota the team has been awful, but through all that he has been one of the few players could regularly put a smile on fans faces with his outrageous passing ability and court vision. Think Terrel Brandon and Steph Marbury, Brandon was a very good PG and leader, but there was nothing quite like living on the edge that Marbury brought to the team.
Getting a better shooter at the 1 isn't going to guarantee they get a better player at the 1. He's so good in every area of the game besides shooting that any player you try to replace him with is likely going to be a step back in other areas. That doesn't mean I wouldn't trade him in a heartbeat if it would help this team contend for championships, I just don't think replacing all that he does well is going to be easy.

Keep preaching Pork. The masses will come to hate Rubio soon... and then there will be justice in the world. If you stopped and looked at it, you'd notice that almost universally, people's expectations of Rubio have come down over the years. We're all aware of his pros and cons. Some of us weight them differently and come out with a different overall impression. But we're all aware of his limitations in scoring the basketball. And our expectations of him improving his shooting have diminished. But most of us tend to enjoy discussing and speculating on his overall value and his place in the team.
So, how about that Lavine guy that we have. I think he'll play Shooting Guard this year.
I think to a certain extent Wolves fans including this board overvalue rebounding especially individually because of...
KG
Al Jefferson
Kevin Love
Thos guys just put up terrific numbers we come to expect players to do their part on the boards.
And then also having numerous very poor rebounding bigs over the years and yeah some of those guys really did suck some of them were still solid players. Which brings me to the next point...
The consensus on this board months ago was Thad Young could NEVER become an above average rebounder. He just finished up a 15/9 season (when he was the old age of 27...) and is now hanging out with Al Jefferson in Indiana who has a couple of in the paint scoring wizards. That will be interesting to see how it plays out but both of those guys are pretty good players and happen to be guys this franchise moved on from. Wiggins is 21. I am not suggesting we don't discuss his weaknesses but I think we need to slow down on the near certainty of what Wiggins is now and what he will be. he just isn't a finished product yet. The guy has like 4 seasons till he is 25. Think about that for a minute.
Also again I bring up Klay Thompson. I know he plays SG and guards the best perimeter players, but he doesn't put up good rebounding numbers either. Who is complaining about that in Golden State? I doubt too many people. Wiggins doesn't HAVE to be a good or even decent rebounder to be a really good player. No player is good at everything.
