KG was a positive when he was on the court. He was a top 40 RPM guy in the league and only behind Ricky on the team. Dieng was also a top 40 RPM guy in the league too and it seems he's not getting much love either. We don't need KG to make the playoffs next year, but he might give us an extra boost in the playoffs if we keep him preserved.

I expect KG to come back and Thibs being thrilled about it relatively speaking. Basically anything we ft out of KG aside from 20 games of limited play is a bonus. If he can play some in the playoffs super.

I'd also prefer him hanging it up if he isn't going to be able to play a decent chunk of games and have limited ability to re-enter games. I don't mind if he sticks around but I won't be thrilled if he is back. That's based on him playing a limited number of games the last couple years. I have no problem with him resting a few games but how many games has he played in the available ones for the Wolves? Not many. Look if it was just basically to flat out tank and let young guys play minutes and saving KG for the next season fine but we have been duped one way or another 2 seasons in a row. I'm keeping my expectations low just like I would with any player with a similar situation.

So you would rather have KG than Towns last year because in RPM Towns was one of the worst players that played center. KG us pretty much done as a player. He has the right to come back, we signed him. As a 13-15th man he is solid but I doubt he will accept that role

Not at all. Towns is a phenom and I'm a huge fan (I wouldn't trade him for anyone) and his RPM will go through the roof soon enough. All, I'm saying is KG was a net positive last year in the minutes he gave us. I think KG has more in the tank than Pek does and he's getting paid quite a bit less. That said, if we get Noah or another quality big rotation guy, I don't think the playoff weapon focus is as important. I'm essentially filling the dead time, with something else to talk about.

I'm guessing KG would have played more last year if we were in the playoff hunt. His season ending injury never seemed legit. I think it was all about giving the pups more playing time and a soft tank.

What about when we were using Rudez and Smith out of necessity?

Trying out the bottom of the bench to see if there was anything worth keeping and a soft tanking...

I could be wrong but I recall reading that KG has never come off the bench since his rookie year. if true mystery injury could have been his only way to keep that streak going...

I wanna say he came off the bench at some point in Brooklyn, but I could be wrong.

I kinda thought so too Cam but he started all the games there. He hasn't come off the bench since his rookie year.
