Remembering Flip

On Twitter I saw some good stuff today on Flip and his family and friends.

This link below is the video but I listened to the audio on Wolfson's podcast. It's a worthwhile listen from someone who was very close to Flip tells stories from back in the day and shares some things that give a little look into Flips life including at the end. There is certainly some interesting info I had not heard before.

Thanks for posting, Monster. I haven't looked at the video yet, but I read Jon's piece. Really well done. I know i'll never forget Flip. I consider this Wolves team Flip's legacy to Wolves fans. I hope Thibs sees it that way. I have to believe that Flip is looking down with a lot of pride and pleasure in what he's seeing from the young men he brought together to lead this franchise into the future.

Yeah, we miss him...it's amazing how many people in this community he touched (no Trump reference :) ). I was talking to a woman who sold him his Shih Tzu a few years ago...Flip told her he needed a puppy to get him through the stress of coaching! She had nothing but the nicest things to say about Flip and his family...truly a huge loss for his family, the Wolves, the NBA and our community. Lip, you were a lucky guy to have a personal relationship with such a terrific guy!

Yeah, Flip was a "character", but in a good way. For the most part, I think he did a very nice job as GM/POBO and that's not limited to his player personnel decisions (which had a couple of gaffes, but for the most part were solid). If you think about what he did in spearheading the improvements to the physical facilities as well as being the #1 marketeer for the franchise - he was "all in" on Minnesota.

We won't discuss his tenure as coach, as I have far less glowing things to say about that. But overall he had a very positive impact on a lot of people.
