What other teams are you pulling for this year?

Post by thedoper »

I've been a Wolves fan since year 1. Family had season tickets at the dome and the Target Center when it opened. But I've been an NBA fan long before that, and always have other teams that I root for basically because they interest me. I don't really care to follow the favorites but trend to more obscure rosters. This year I am pulling for the Knicks along with the Wolves. They're weird and could be a total trainwreck, but they fascinate me. Love the personalities on that team and Porzingis is going to be the counterpoint to Towns if both of them stay healthy throughout their careers. The bigs in the league right now are really great, in 5 years I think we are going to be talking about all the big men on teams and their importance.

What other teams are you guys interested in this year?

OKC is for sure a team I am pulling for and interested to see how they do. Nobody else really jumps out at me at the moment.

I'm too invested in the Wolves success to root for any Western Conference team. So my first order of interest is for Eastern Conference teams to beat Western Conference teams, no matter who the teams are, except for the Wolves of course.

As for Eastern conference teams I'm rooting for, I find the Milwaukee Bucks pretty fascinating with GF at the point. They are also a Midwest small-market team that seems deserving of some success. Too bad Middleton got hurt though.....

Like the Bucks and OKC too. The NBA is crazy good right now. Even though the typical narrative of favorites exists there is so much unique talent spread throughout the league.

I was a Boston Celtics fan before MN had a team.

As arguably the only team with a shot to derail Cleveland (James) from making it to the Finals again... I'm rooting for them hard this season when not rooting for the Wolves.

But I'll take any team from the East... although the Celtics (after landing a legit star via trade) is the only team maybe, doubtfully capable of upending the Cavs this season.

I want to comment on the young talented big men in the league. It really could be a bit of a game changer in the diverse talent some of these guys have. Towns, Porzingis, Jokic and if healthy Embiid. All those guys have a pretty ridiculous diverse abilities to do things all over the floor and other than Embiid the other guys in their rookie year certainly showed they aren't just potential. Other young bigs could become diverse talented bigs in a couple years too. The League really could be going a totally different direction because of these types of talents. It is a fun time to watch this league.

Heck, it'll be interesting to see which of the two Denver bigs ends up being the better one...

Nurkic showed promise before an uneven season last year when Jokic became the highly acclaimed prospect. I wouldn't be surprised if Nurkic reclaims his hold this season if he stays healthy.

Yeah. It's the Nuggets so Juancho Hernangomez will probably look really good the Nuggets just seem to get terrific bigs one way or another.
