Ha, I'm letting Ricky walk if he asks for more than $15 and even then I'd probably let him walk.
Re: Just for fun...
If Lavine signs that deal his agent will never work again. Lavine is a max player. People may disagree with that I guess but he would get a max from 20 teams in the league. Rubio will be gone after this year. If that salary breakdown doesn't say it I don't know what will.

Well, lucky for us, in real life Ricky is signed through the '18-19 season at what should now be considered a very reasonable deal. That will either bode well for our own cap situation if he sticks around or make him an even more valuable trade chip in the event Dunn truly does push him out of the starting role.

Exactly. And I conjectured in a cap thread this summer that Ricky is the kind of guy who might take a Spurs-like home town discount when his contract runs out IF the team is challenging for championships. He will have already made more money than he can ever use with his current contract, and he seems like the kind of guy that might sign for $5 million per just to stay with a winning team. But if the team is still flailing, he's likely gone at the end of this contract.

LST, that was terrific prediction. I know that at least I would have dislocated my shoulder, if I would have made that good prediction.
I also think it was pretty good deal for Wolves. 4 years and 64 millions is exactly same amount that Lakers gave for Mozgov and Washington gave for Mahinmi and clearly less than what Biyombo (70 millions for 4 years) or Noah (72 millions for 4 years) got. Dieng also has still some upside unlike Mahinmi or Noah.
Re: Just for fun...
Isn't Ricky already on record saying if they don't make the playoffs this year it might be time for a change. Doesn't sound like the type of statement a guy would make if he was willing to stay on a discount.
Re: Just for fun...
Congrats on your Gorgui contract prediction, LST. I thought you were low-balling him at the time and I still do. No doubt that Gorgui took a bit of a hometown discount.
I think you're low on you Zach prediction. You have him at $54 million over 3 years, which is $18 million per year. That would be $72 million over 4 years. Personally, I agree with Duke that Zach will eventually command a max deal from at least some teams in the League. But right now, I'd peg Zach's market value on par with Oladipo who just signed a 4-year $84 million deal. That's $21 million per year. What I like about the Deng contract is that it sets us up to argue for a slight home-town discount from the other top young guys when they're up for extensions. I see Oladipo's deal as the Gorgui equivalent for Zach.
I think you're on the money with $10 per year for Belly.
So here's how I see the future:
KAT: $25 (just below $26.5 max)
Wigg: $25 (just below $26.5 max)
Zach: $21
Gorgui: $16
Ricky: $15
Belly: $10
TOTAL for 6 Players = $112 million

Lip that's what's inwas thinking about Lavine.
As for Bellly we are still kinda projecting what we think he will be. It 10 million seems reasonable assuming he can actually play considering the mid-level will be over 8 million by the time he gets a new deal. People will continue to talk about Towns Wiggins Lavine and the PG position but I think Dieng and Belly can be significant keys to this team as it chases championship aspirations. We will so how it plays out. Dieng taking a reasonable deal sure helps things and Belly took less than he could have held out for when he came over so it's possible he won't be looking to cash in the next time either if this is the place he wants to be. It's lots of speculation at this point but it is kinda fun. :)
Re: Just for fun...
Here's some more clarity on my prediction with Dunn added. The following is my projection for the 2019-20 season. This will be KAT's first season under his new contract and the second season for Wiggins and Zach under their extensions. It would also be the first season of Ricky's next contract, following the final year of his current contract at $14.8 million. It would be second season of Belly's new deal. It would be the final season of Dunn's rookie deal.
KAT: $25 (just below $26.5 max)
Wigg: $25 (just below $26.5 max)
Zach: $21
Gorgui: $16
Ricky: $15
Belly: $10
Dunn: $5.3
TOTAL for 7 Players = $117.3 million
Then I'd add 2 players at the mid-level exception of around $8 million. That brings the total to $133.3 for 9 players. We will be WAY over the luxury tax threshold.

Re: Just for fun...
Sometimes, I wish I was a 6'10" foul-prone Serbian PF.
We're already projecting him to make $10M... based primarily on a 3 week stretch of competent play for a bottom feeder playing mostly other bottom feeders?
There's a CHANCE he'll be worth that contract. But I'm waiting for more.
[Note: And yes... I realize it's not even a great contract in today's game. But let's not forget that it's nearly as much as Aldrich and Hill make combined and they've proven A LOT more in the NBA than Bjelica has.]
