Budinger was cut by the Nets (yes the Nets). By the way, Anthony Bennett is still on the Nets roster (though they have one more cut to make).

I've been following that roster a little bit. I've read some positive things about AB. I'm still rooting for that kid, so hope he makes it. Anyone remember what we gave up to get Bud? I want to say a 1st round pick but am too lazy to look up.

It was a first rounder (18th overall). Houston drafted Terrence Jones. Also available at that spot were Evan Fournier, Jared Sullinger, Draymond Green, Jae Crowder, Khris Middleton, Will Barton.

I think Houston might have also sent a nice fruit basket to us after that trade was completed. So it's not like we didn't get something out of it.

That makes sense although I thought he moved around really well in the last preseason game.

Edit: Murry waived also. Wolfson said the bottom of the roster is fluid which makes sense.

While Lucas is on the roster for now, I definitely think he's gone if Thibs finds an upgrade and I'd be real surprised if Lucas lasts the year. Payne could also be cut or traded to open up another spot. It would be nice if we could get a roster exemption for Pek, but I am not expecting it.

Supposedly the new CBA will add two more roster spots for D-League development so that each team can have 17 guys. Under that scenario, someone like Bentil makes a lot more sense than Lucas. I just don't know when the changes will kick in. I'll presume next year.
