It goes to show how much 3-point shooting is valued, because he has been a very consistent long-range shooter his entire career. I just don't see enough contribution in other aspects of his game though, so he doesn't seem like a max player to me.
Problem is that Washington doesn't really have a choice. They have to go down swinging with the Beal ship...

I agree on Beal. Our problem is that we have no guarantee (other than our faith as "homers") that we won't put ourselves in the same position with Zach.
Sources: Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed strong interest in free agent Kent Bazemore.
One of the guys I would make an exception for.
So you'd drop near 20 on a guy who has proven something for maybe 2 years but not 10-15 on Deng who has a long career of production and fits this team better???

Don't think I said I'd drop near $20 large on him, but I'd give him more than Deng

Bazemore is likely getting 4 years at close to 20. I think that's a nightmare for our team. Deng or Pau on 10-15 per for 2 years makes a ton of sense now and for our future. I'd love Deng at 3 years with a team option for the 3rd but I doubt we have the leverage to have him accept a team option here.
Deng also has the positional flexibility that fits our team. Bazemore just adds to a log jam in my opinion.
