I am curious how the restricted FA markets plays out the rest of this offseason. We have 2 guys next year in Bazz and Dieng who are both going to get paid some decent chunks of money particularly Dieng. We have seen some big offers for RFA but it's also obvious teams are hesitant to throw massive amounts to of money to get guys away from the teams AND have to wait. When your player is a RFA and you aren't up against the cap and can match of you want is a big chip and could discourage a team from even making an offer. Of the RFA deals on the table what Portland does with Crabbe is the one I am most interested in.

I think it's a decent deal for Portland, but comparing him to another backup center (Cole Aldrich), it's more evidence of what a great deal we got. Ezeli is more in the spotlight because he played in the finals, but they played about the same number of minutes last year, and Aldrich was much better offensively and defensively.

I would have been thrilled to get Ezeli for 2 years 16 or less. That's mod-level money for a guy that might be able to start at C. What is it that made Ezeli get so little money? It's quite interesting that Luke Walton got hired by the Lakwrs and the Lakers spent a huge chunk of money on Mozgov and not Ezeli. I know Walton is just a hot young assistant but you would think he would have some pull and be campaign bigtime for Ezeli...if he really wanted him.

The bottom line for me is the Blazers could come out of this offseason depending on what they do with their RFA's with even more talent on their roster both for themselves or to make a move in a trade.

Also for those Cliff Robinson fans the Blazers renounced him so he is available. Kansas baby!!! Right?

Monster, are you saying you would have been thrilled to get Ezeli at 2/16 or less if we hadn't signed Aldrich, or are saying you would have preferred Ezeli to Aldrich? Aldrich seems like the superior player to me in every facet of the game.

Cliff Robinson is such a mystery to me. His games against Okafor in high school were legendary...they were considered fairly even. But then he got injured and missed training camp at Kansas, and Self didn't play him much despite his per minute numbers being superior to every other big on the roster. Then, he wasn't drafted because teams wanted to send him overseas and his agent didn't want that. Finally, despite putting up decent stats in SL and D-League, he wasn't given any chance by Portland. There just aren't many players as big and athletic as him, and I would love it if the Wolves added him to the SL roster.

Also Ezeli got team option on second year. Portland doctors must have red flagged his knees. No other explanation about his new contract.

Yeah, sorry BW. I'm guessing Monster and I were confusing Alexander with another underperforming KU PF who's been linked to the Wolves...Thomas Robinson

Take it from me we don't want Alexander he is just an ok defender and literally all he can do offense is sit in the short corner and alley oops

Kek- I know your our Jayhawk guy, so you likely have seen him more than any of us. But nbadraft.net gave him a pretty good defensive rating coming out of college, based mostly on his 7-2 wingspan and over 3 blocks per 36 minutes. I also know he had a terrible jump shot in high school and college, but there are reports that he has been working on it and improving.

Wouldn't he be a better option at PF on our SL team than Jarrid Famous?
