I was curious who Sam would have started at SG if Rubio would have played last night. I was curious to see if it was LaVine or Martin.

I'm pretty sure it would have been Martin, with Shabazz backing him up. Just like when Martin was out, Sam backed up Wig with Bazz. LaVine had a few minutes at SG too that game, but most of minutes were still at PG even with Martin out.

While a 4-3 record is nice, our team has so many new pieces that it just hasn't been figured out yet. With a new HC, essentially 4 new starters (because of Ricky's injuries) and multiple rookies, we just don't have a lot of tape on our identity as a team yet. Think about it. We were the worst team in the league last year and what games are we winning? We are winning as road underdogs (aka not taken seriously) and losing at home to teams trying to beat us in our house and steal a valuable road win. It's awesome we're 4-3. I think that is really good for the development of our young guys to get a taste of winning this early. I also think though that we've been played like a doormat team on the road, surprised a few good teams and our record at home is a little troubling considering we lost to two teams who should be worse than us in Portland and Charlotte and we got beat pretty soundly by a good Miami team. I hope it keeps up, but I am skeptical.

We also need another big. Hopefully pek will be healthy in a month. I like bjelica and he has certainly prove me wrong but I fear he may be playing too many minutes straight off the bench. He plays for long stretches at a time and it might be wise and better for him if we could give him a few minutes rest 9-10min stint to keep him fresh and prevent injuries. Instead he has been playing 12-14mins straight at a time.

So are we at the point where Rubio has to be treated like a fragile piece of glass for the rest of his career?

Obviously. He gets nose bleeds out of nowhere.

Maybe Sam should staple Ricky's mittens to his jacket when it starts to snow

Everybody knows you don't staple the mittens. You tie a piece of yarn connecting them and run them through the arms of the jacket.

Rookie!
