Cousins ultimately seems like the type of guy that has to go to a team that already has a strong and stable culture and clear veteran leader. He is too immature to be a leader himself and the instability of the Kings front office and coaching carousel is a toxic mix.

I've been the loudest anti-Sacramento guy on this forum.
I think that ownership/management group is embarrassing... ala David Kahn levels.

Agreed. They have "problem children" at every layer in the organization from the top on down to the actual players. What a mess.

Why can't you guys let go of him? He's a cancer, no way should we trade for him, no no and hellz no.

All the hate on here for Kevin Love, it surprises me that even the idea of Boogie coming here comes up.

I get what you are saying. The reason it's hard to let go because he is a top young talent in the league and theoretically he is available. I have zero interest in trading for him.

Attitude was allegedly part of the reason the Wolves ended up with smiling Wes Johnson.
Sometimes, you have to go for talent and hope ego/attitude can be controlled. I don't know if it's possible with Cousins. But I do know that Sacramento has handled it about as bad as possible.
The firing of Malone, right when the Kings were playing well and Cousins seemed to be maturing and showing commitment to a coach... I just don't understand it.

Whenever that draft comes up and people excuse us for not taking Cousins based on attitude, I like to remind them that we could have taken him and then traded down for someone else plus additional assets. He was the best talent available when we drafted and would have fetched us a nice return. That was the move to make at the time.

This is exactly why I wanted to pass on Cousins, championship teams don't have those issues. Unless he turns it around the Kings will be in perpetual rebuilding mode.

To be fair, championship teams don't build around guys like Wes Johnson either.
As for trading for Cousins now... Detroit won a title with the help of malcontent, Rasheed Wallace.
