Speaking of Philly... what the hell is the story with TJ McConnell?

The guy has been Rubio-esque his last two times out:

6 / 7 / 12
7 / 9 / 12

Four-year starter in college. Played two of those years at Arizona. From everything I heard and read during those two years, the guy's a gym rat. Always trying to improve. He also had a great understanding of the game, both offensively and defensively. He was the point guard I kept bringing up as a good 2nd round possibility for the Wolves, but we eventually went the Tyus Jones route. I'm surprised at the double-digit assist totals this early because he didn't hit that mark much (if ever) at Arizona, but he's a very, very smart player. Plays under control and to his strengths (mid-range, facilitating, attacking the rim).

He is sort of an Aaron Craft type. From what I saw against the Cavs he is one of those guys that knows how to play. Might not be physically gifted but was a very good defender in college and is a passing PG. If he can defend, run an offense and hit some 3's he will have a long NBA career. 6ers seem to be able to find some solid bench PGs

Thinks aren't getting much better for the sharpshooting Canuck. Through 5 games, Nik is shooting 35.6 % and is down to 28.6 % on threes. Stauskas was in the conversation for the Wolves pick and ultimate pick Zach is the target of criticism here from time to time, but it looks like Flip got this one right.

Yeah, this is just the type of player profile I was hoping for in our unending quest for a backup to Ricky. I just didn't know McConnell was that guy!
