Yeah, in retrospect we botched this one. But as I mentioned above and in fairness to Flip, Martin's injury last year likely prevented Flip from moving Martin in January. Just another example of the Wolves' bad luck with injuries. Nice to see that the injury tide may be turning this year.

I would do that. I was hoping we would get Portis, but that is not going to happen. I would be willing to move Shabazz/Dieng/Martin for Gibson and Portis though.

1. Whatever playoff hopes the team and fans had have been thoroughly destroyed during the last 9 games. Remember, this was supposed to be an "easy" stretch of games. We've won one time and are back near the bottom of the Western Conference.
2. So our eyes turn to "the future", which means increasingly phasing out of the rotation or trading the older guys and developing the youngsters.
3. Martin gets traded, Zach gets moved to the 2, Tyus gets called back up from the D-League and becomes the full-time backup to Rubio.
4. We lose a lot more games and maximize our lottery position.
I hate that we have to spend yet another season in this mode, but I guess it's not too surprising. I had low expectations of only 26 wins, but that's because I factored in injuries. For being as healthy as we've been, I'm actually pretty disappointed in the results.
I think you nailed it. I do think they'll exceed your 26 win prediction. I see flashes from Wiggins/LaVine/Towns...I have to believe regardless of who's coaching them - they'll keep getting better with more experience/maturation. I think they have to win enough games to keep the core "engaged" for competitive purposes. We don't want to see guys "checking out" because that creates a bad culture going forward.
