I wouldn't, he has a stellar 3-8 playoff coaching record. He has the experience to take us on a deep playoff run!

I don't know, I think Martin still holds more value than many think. In the right role, he is still a solid asset. He is an asset a veteran team can add that you know will provide instant pop from day 1 in lineup. Part of the issue in MN is that he is asked to do more than he is capable at this point. If you limit his role, he has more value. It is not only about skill set, but also about his ability to fit. Martin is, and always has been, a high character guy that will fit his assigned role on a veteran team. He did it in OKC, and I would argue he did it here. He seems a perfect fit for a team like Chicago or Spurs.

My thought about this though is that if we are waving the flag, what is the point of keeping KG and Prince? Is it even possible to shop them? Prince wouldn't have value anywhere, and I just don't think trading KG is an option with his whole wanting to invest in team thing....unless maybe he wants to finish on a winning team. Lip, any thoughts on how he or the organization would view this?

1. Brewer was a bench veteran for a playoff team. What did he fetch in a trade? Troy Daniels. I expect about the same for Martin. Although there were reportedly several teams in the mix for Brewer and his contract was a couple million less per year.

2. Prince and Garnett are on the team for reasons beyond wins and losses. If they were only here for that, Garnett would be ripped for only being able to play 15 mpg. I'd expect more "rest" games for him, however, as the season goes on.

Martin's trade value is hurt by his age and that he can be a free agent next year. So who wants to rent a 32 year old? Only someone in a playoff push or a team that is desperate to unload a player (e.g. Markieff Morris). We won't get alot but might benefit by a team like Chicago who have too many power forwards and might be willing to unload us a decent one. Boston also has an excess of quality bigs so they might unload for that reason.

If we wait til the all star break, Martin will age another year and we will be trying to trade a 33 year old for less than half a year.

What do you guys think of kmart for Lance Stephenson. It would be a risk but let Lance run the second unit, and the vet leadership is in place for lance

I like Stephenson the ball player. Stephenson the person is a different story. I guess the front office would have to believe his on court contributions outweigh his knuckleheadedness. If the Clippers let him go, it would be 3 teams that didn't want to deal with him, so I'd be wary.

I would think we would have to give up a bit more. But I have this suspicion that the whole Huston thing is start to really blow up. I anticipate very desperate moves coming from them. I wouldn't be surprised if they try just about anything to make it work now that they are locked in to so many idiots on their roster.
