Do It For The Flipper (Wolves vs. Blazers GT)

Post by ItsJustSoSab »

I know Flip was already honored in the first game but I'm expecting it to be even more emotional as it is the home opener, hopefully in front of a large opening night crowd. The team giving them and Flip a win would be pretty sweet.

I don't know, sab. You might have jinxed the whole thing! LST had been on a good run with winning GDTs...

We're just going to have to go with it, Tim, but I hope we didn't anger the GDT gods!

I don't think Portland is very good, and that combined with what promises to be a very emotional night at TC should lead to an easy win...I know I'll be disappointed if they lose. Their starting bigs may be the worst in the NBA...Leonard, Aminu and Mason Plumlee. Leonard is jacking up 3's and hitting 15% of them, and he's only making 32% of his shots overall. Plumlee and Aminu are actually playing fairly well, but they are never going to scare anyone offensively. So it's all about stopping Lillard and McCollum, who are both averaging 22.7 PPG. But here's where our long, defensive-minded guards give us an advantage. Lillard is always going to get his points, but I think CJ is going to struggle against Wig's length. CJ is a terrific shooter and also a very good rebounder for an undersized SG, but he's not exceptionally quick or adept at creating his own shot...if Wig is healthy, I think he will shut him down.

Portland isn't very deep either, especially with Gerald Henderson out, so this is the kind of team our second unit can build a lead off of. Wolves are favored by only 5 1/2 (first time they have been favored all year), but a betting man has to be giving those points tonight. Wolves win 105-93.

It's bad karma. I don't like this at all. Fix it LST! It's not too late.

Make a new one, but if we lose LST is out of a job and I'm not sure we can afford his unemployment collectively!

Don't do it LST, its time for this board to man up and not let those pithy GDT Gods strike fear into our thread! The only people who should fear something as silly as a GDT God would be those fools who wear cheese hats.
