The Pelicans have waived forward Jeff Adrien and guards Bryce Dejean-Jones and Bo McCalebb and now have one extra roster spot.

All of our win projections need to be on hold until Milt makes his decision about picking up Jeff Adrien...I suspect some projections may soar into at least the 40s if Milt goes after him!

I'd take Adrien over Payne, that's for sure!

That Payne trade is looking like a disaster. He couldn't even get playing time in the pre-season. We lost a first round pick. It cost us a better player in Bennett even if he isn't significantly better at this point. I have much more hope Bennett pans out than Payne. We picked up Payne's option so next year is already fully guaranteed. We compounded a bad move with more bad moves and you just can't do that. I doubt he's a project that pays off at this point if he can't even get playing time in pre-season over a guy like Rudez.

Should we have cut our loses with Payne? Maybe and I would be tempted but 2 million bucks for next year probably isn't a deal breaker. I am not too optimistic about him but the last 2 games he looked more competent and under control. We have time with him to see what he has. I am ok with seeing what we have with him. Regardless that trade looks bad because I am hoping for a Dante Cunningham type impact player at this point. Every team makes a mistake here and there. The Spurs picked James Anderson and that didn't work out but the Spurs of course found other talents. The Wolves can and need to do that.

Curry with 53 points tonight on 27 shots. 8-14 from 3. He's the best player in the NBA right now.

And yet the scrub couldn't scratch out a double double. Overpaid!

A Curry/Thompson matchup against either Rubio/Zach or Rubio/Kmart would seem lopsided. But a matchup against Rubio/Wiggins is a bit more intriguing...

I don't know. I think Wiggins and Thompson would be a good matchup, but Curry is pretty much unguard-able one on one. Rubio is a great defender, but Curry just needs to rub him off a screen and get an inch of daylight. Swish. He gets the shot off before anyone in the league can recover - even Rubio.

I think the way to guard Curry is what Cleveland did in the Finals which is trap him on ball screens and make him get rid of it. Basically the big needs to show really, really hard and stick with him, even after his defender recovers. You are basically taking him out of the game and conceding wide open jumpers to guys like Barnes or Iguodala, which they ended up making.

Um this sorta came out of nowhere. Did I miss when Lamb became like kinda good or something?

@rick_bonnell: Can confirm @ESPNSteinLine report that @hornets have agreement in principle with Jeremy Lamb on 3-year, $21 million extension.
