Fine, I'd let Prince try to beat me if I'm the opposition.
The other thing is we typically sub in Martin first instead of Shabazz, so we really aren't seeing the one wing pairing where there is bound to be a major mismatch on the floor together much.
I think the bigger advantage is defensively. Rubio and Wiggins is a really lengthy back court combination.

Yeah, I agree that is a very long backcourt. I think McCollum is a dreadful defender, so I would definitely put him on Prince and play Aminu on Wiggins. Prince just hasn't shown any offensive game at all so far. It would be fun to see him utilize his 5 inch advantage on CJ though.
I agree Prince starting is for defensive purposes, but a couple other factors are 1) reducing mental errors from our SF, and 2) having a SF that will not take shots away from Wiggins. All part of having our top development priority being Wiggins and Towns.
Q12543 wrote:When Wiggins is paired with Prince, the solution for the opposition is to put their SF on Wiggins. For example, Ariza should guard Wiggins and Harden would guard Prince. Wiggins doesn't really have much of a size advantage over Ariza. McLemore on Prince and Gay on Wiggins. And so on....
Good point, q. It will be interesting to see what Portland does tomorrow. Do you think they will put little CJ McConnell on Prince?
Yeah, that's one matchup where Prince I think really does have an advantage and we should go to him. I can't possibly see them having McCollum guard Wiggins. Aminu will check Andrew.

I get that, BUT a Shabazz/Wiggins backcourt could really pose problems. I'm hoping they get to a point someday where either Shabazz starts or is the first wing off the bench. I want to see these two get more minutes together.

As our roster stands right now, I agree that a Shabazz/Wiggins combo is something we ought to see a lot in the future. Hopefully we will start seeing doses of it sooner than later. Have we seen it this season, yet?
I keep seeing that Tayshaun is a player that "won't take shots away from Wiggins." While true, it's a shame that Wiggins can't impact the game unless the ball is fed to him in isolation. The great players can get their points without having to create everything with the ball.
