I gotta commend you, Cam, for coming back to the board with a more open mind and being less abrasive. But your old self is back. That time of the month or something?
What did I say that was abrasive? A healthy Pekovic is an absolute force. Two years ago he was a consistent double-double threat and averaged 17.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game in 31 minutes per game. There's less than 10 centers in the entire NBA that can do that and he was one of them. On the other hand, Garnett is a glue guy at this stage of his career. He's averaging 4.0 PPG and 6.5 RPG in 17.5 MPG through just two games so far, but he averaged just under 7 PPG and 7 RPG last year in 20 MPG. That's the level of production we're going to get from KG. Pekovic was damn near All-Star status.
I like what I've seen with KG and KAT on the floor together, despite it being in limited action. I think they work well together and have similar abilities on defense, though KAT's more physically able and KG is well-equipped with knowledge of the game. I like that Garnett is there to pick Towns up if he does something wrong or commend him for doing something well.
With all that said, however, Pekovic would have more of an on-court impact than Garnett and I don't think it's even close. That's not being abrasive, that's having a solid argument.
Also, implying that a male is menstruating is more abrasive, or childish, than anything that I've said in a good while.
