Flip's Plan Is Working Perfectly
Flip's Plan Is Working Perfectly
Donovan will coach OKC
Hoiberg will coach Chicago
Mike Malone is going to get the Denver job
Flip can now go to Glen and say that there are no viable candidates, therefore I need to continue to teach an outdated offense combined with shitty defense
WE SHOULD HAVE HIRED MALONE

There will be more coaches, but Flip needs to hire a D guru. I would have liked to have considered Darren Erman.

I'm not sure I would be. JVG was just praising the Cavs for their great offense to a replay of iso-Lebron where he took a step back 3.

That comment caught me by surprise too. Maybe he was being sarcastic.
I'm not jumping on the "Flip Grand Plan" train. I was hoping they would land Hoiberg, but I can see why he would prefer the title-ready Bulls. I wish I knew if we made him an offer.
As for Malone, I don't know if he would be an upgrade at all over Flip. Flip has had more coaching success than Malone, and after all, Malone was fired by the Kings. Flip has said he will ultimately be judged by the coach he hires, and Malone may not be good enough.
I wonder if the real Grand Plan is to give Thibs a year to clear his head, and then hand the reins over to him then. I would be in favor of that.

I don't care about the other guys. J.B. Bickerstaff is still out there. And he'd be considered "country club" to a degree. He's learned under another Minnesota guy in McHale. That's still my choice whenever Flip decides to give it up.
(Thibs is still available too.)

Bingo, Cam! I've never heard Flip or anyone close to him mention JB, but I know JB is highly regarded among NBA coaches. I think he'd be a great choice for the Wolves after this season. Wouldn't surprise me if Flip has the same thought.

Heh, we'll see what happens after this season, but yeah, there is no question he's coaching at least one more year.
