I would trade Rubio for Russell.

No, thanks. The next point guard we get needs to be able to shoot. Exum's a very good defender with a quick first step offensively, but that's essentially it right now. Rubio's leaps and bounds better running an offense and controlling the game.

Agreed. The only move I'd probably even consider would involve Russell. I'm just not sold on trading Rubio unless it's a great deal. He does too much outside of scoring. He's young and I still have hope he can get his scoring up to adequate levels.

Grossly overpaying with that suggestion. No way in hell I'd do anything close to that.

If it was even possible... I'd do it.

You win with stars in the NBA. And with Wiggins, Towns and Russell... the Wolves would have 3 possible stars in the making. I think we're realizing with the Cavs right now... that you can surround a superstar with complementary pieces and still be very good.

Lordy Bleed...why not give them next years first rounder too? If the lakers or Knicks want to make a move...they will. But currently neither have squat for trade material besides for there top picks. Those two markets out of any need to be viable....trading for Rubio, perhaps Bjelica, #31 and a bench player still gets them a damn good talent pool and a PG with legit Allstar ability to recruit other players

Just my thoughts

Grey - I don't think they would take that for the 2nd pick. Lots of unproven players and a few solid injury prone players for the second pick. I don't see the Lakers wanting it.

Crazy idea, but why wouldn't we take Towns and Okafor if we got the top two picks? I realize we'd be short a PG but I'm guessing we'd have some salary cap space if we made that deal. We'd just need to add a PG to a Lavine/Wiggins/Towns/Okafor core. If people are confident in Towns' ability to play the 4 he'd be able to cover for Okafor defensively and stretch the floor for him offensively or we could just grab every offensive rebound ever by putting them both down low. Just a thought.

Not a crazy idea at all. I just don't see the Lakers giving up the second overall pick for Rubio and some role players. I don't think we have the ammo to trade up to 2.

That's not a terrible idea, and Okafor is my No. 2 player, but adding Russell would give us another potential perimeter star in a league where perimeter guys dominate. He'd be a tremendous help to our three-point shooting and we'd be back to having a scoring point guard.

Russell
LaVine
Wiggins
Dieng
Towns

Could also use Rubio's money to go after a PF free agent.

I don't think the wolves are at the point in this rebuild to be selecting for position. We have to select BPA...and if that is Okafor and Towns...then we are stacked long term at PF/C. I like the swagger or Russell, but I really think Justice, Porz, and a late sleeper in Rondae Hollis Jefferson will be steals
