Who do you think should be named MVP?
Personally I had Lebron as my MVP going into this game and IGGY as the Warriors MVP. I thought Curry was absolutely fantastic this game and thought he would get it but IMHO IGGY deserves the award. I totally get it if people disagree with it though.
I have no problem with iggy winning but I would have preferred curry and iggy being co-mvps. I see the agrument for iggy but warriors best and most important player is still curry and come up big when they won.
Iguodala won it in part because he was left wide open because the Cavs didn't respect him. Curry didn't win it because he drew two defenders on him constantly... and he played smart basketball and passed it to get his team in constant 4-on-3 situations with Iggy wide open.
Iguodala. James. Curry.
You could make a case for any of them. I'm surprised Curry didn't garner a single vote. In a very different way, he dictated what Golden State did offensively almost as much as James did for Cleveland.
I thought it had to be Lebron or Curry. While Iggy was great against Lebron defensively he still got destroyed and Iggy didn't create a ton on offense. A lot of his offensive contributions were due to him being wide open due to the play of others on both sides of the ball. Curry seemed to be the one constant for GS in terms of game changing play. 16/6/4/1 versus 26/5/6/2 with Curry getting a boatload of hockey assists all series long had a bigger effect on the series than Iggy in my opinion. I thought they could have easily gone with Lebron as well, I just think you should win the series to win the MVP. If some people thought Lebron was the series MVP (which some did), then how do you give the award to the guy who guarded him for most of the series?
Imo one of the changes in this series was game 4 when Curry quit looking to figure out Delly and how to get his and started passing a lot more both he and Klay were trying to do too much to get buckets. Curry aside from a few TOs was pretty much masterful in that regard in game 6. Like it's been said I think you can make a case for Lebron Curry or IGGY for finals MVP. Really it's not a big deal though it's a subjective individual award that doesn't mean that much. IGGY getting it probably is the highlight of his career besides winning. Championship. Good for him.

Eh I don't think holding LeBron to under 40% shooting is "getting destroyed". Outside of Kawhi Leonard, what NBA player could hold LeBron to the numbers he put up in this series considering his usage rate

Lebron's jump shot was broken all playoffs. The rest of the Warriors outside of Iggy still held Lebron to 44% from the field (I think I saw that percentage on twitter) so clearly his shot was off unless you think the Warriors were just throwing multiple elite defenders at him. Lebron's high usage is exactly what led to the lower efficiency numbers as well. So you combine the poor shooting all playoffs with the extra high usage and that's more of what drove his efficiency down than just Iggy's defensive impact. I don't know of any one team that has multiple defenders that can collectively keep a normal Lebron performance (in terms of usage and jump shooting) under 45% from the field.
