Upcomimg events

Post by longstrangetrip [enjin:6600564] »

It's that slow time of year for T-Wolves fans, so I thought I would remind everyone of some upcoming events.

Combine: May 12-17. Not all that interesting in terms of our first pick, since Okafor, Towns, Mudiay, Hezonja and Porzingis will all be absent. Might be more informative in analyzing second round prospects.

Lottery: May 19. Historically a painful night for Wolves fans, but maybe this is our year...at least Cool says it is. In any event, in 8 days we will know the draft order, and pick conjecture will get much more focused.

Draft: June 25. The Wolves will have one of the first four picks, plus #31 and 36...barring trades or pick sales.

Summer League: July 10-20. Anyone going this year?

So, several events happening in the next 2 months that will generate some activity here. Also, while there may be trades this summer, the only other event which I am focused on is any Bjelica decision. While he is under a 3-year contract, there is a buy-out option that kicks in this summer. I would expect any decision to happen prior to the draft.

Did I miss anything?

May 19th is definitely the biggest date on the sports calendar for me at this point. Thankfully only 8 days away. Personally I wish they would get it out of the way before the playoffs even start.

I really hope you are right on this one Cool. I certainly have hope. It's our time to shine.

I've seen a couple references to May 20 too, Cam, but most references (like the attached nba.com) say 5/19.

While Towns is the #1 prospect in this draft, I'm still not convinced he'll end up being the #1 player when it's all said and done. I could easily see Russell or Hezonja as the best players over the long run because of their combination of shooting, handles, and playmaking.

It's the 19th. Wolves are hosting a lottery party at Target Center on the 19th.

Might as well have KG go to the lottery. It is his birthday and he has been a big winner on his bday.

I saw a tweet that Glen's wife is going. I think it was serious.
