I'm fairly certain that the Wolves will be retaining Rubio, Wiggins, LaVine, Shabazz, Gorgui, Bennett, Payne, KG, Pek, and Martin (Budinger is a toss up at this point, I think he has raised his value enough to be moved without cost).
That's 10 roster spots locked in there but also consider the 1st round draft pick will account for one and the Euro big coming over might account for another. So there are three roster spots open in this scenario.
Who would you bring back with those three spots?
Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
I think that the only player we should bring back out of this bunch is Hummel. The guys is a hard-worker, plays smart, is going to be cheap, and won't make noise if he doesn't play for half the year.
The other spots should be filled by a veteran back-up PG (Jameer Nelson would be my first choice) and then fill whatever hole in the roster there is with a cheap vet or a second rounder.

I don't care much about any of them. I think each can be replaced easily enough.
And none will be part of making the Wolves a playoff team when it finally happens. I guess you could hope Chase Budinger continues to play as a solid rotation/bench guy that he was supposed to be... so he can help in that role here or be packaged and add value in other deals.
Everybody else is basically scrap heap guys. (Neal has some value, I guess in that he'll be playing for sure next year somewhere.)

Gary Neal. I'd put every other ounce of energy into getting David West and secondarily Dragic, though either is unlikely.

Obviously.
This is just a way to gauge the interest of the forum members on the end of the bench guys. Who values what in the end of our bench.

Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
I voted: Brown, Hamilton and Budinger.
I like Robbie Hummel, but I don't see how (or where) he would ever see the court with a full/healthy roster. I assume we'll draft another big to go along with Payne, KG and maybe Bennett. Then we have Bazz, Wiggins, LaVine, Budinger and Martin at Wing. I'm not seeing anywhere for Robbie to fit.
Lo Brown, I'm fine with as end of bench/cheap 3rd PG who probably spends time in the D-League vs. active roster.
Chase has at least some established track record of being a decent bench guy and looks healthy.
Hamilton is a 7 footer. I wish he was tougher/defensive guy. But like Brown, I'd be fine with him as end of bench/cheap guy. Obviously if upgrades are available - I'm ok with that too.
I don't see Neal resigning to a rebuilding team. And the Jeff Adrien love just has to stop - he's not coming back :-)

Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
I voted Hummel, Hamilton, and Chase. And only Chase because he might be able to bring an asset by trade at the deadline if he stays relatively healthy. Hummel and Hamilton can be depth guys that you hope don't have to play every night.
Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
My vote would probably be to trade Martin & Bud. Keep Neal, keep Brown if another vet isn't brought in. As long as we get Towns or Okafor I see no need for Hamilton.
Also I think that last option for FA shouldn't even say "none of the above" given the fact we get 3 choices.

Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
If we have a choice I don't bring any of them back. We still need a good backup PG and I'd leave 1 roster spot open so we have the flexibility to add guys as needed during the year if injuries hit again. Then I'd use the 14th spot on a second round flyer this year just to take a chance at striking gold in the second round. There's always seemingly a KJ McDaniels out there and we should get him this year.
Re: Who Do You Want Back Next Year?
I would probably pass on all of them at this point. Hummel can have a training camp invite but Neal probably will not want to stay. If he did, Martin would be a good trade candidate.
Also, if the Wolves are fortunate enough to draft one of the 2 big kids and bring over Bjelica, it would probably be smart to cut bait with one of the other young bigs, most likely Bennett.
