Traded Derrick Williams to the Sacramento Kings for Luc Mbah a Moute.
Grade The Trade #4: DWill/Moute
Re: Grade The Trade #4: DWill/Moute
We got rid of the last of the "Smilies" just in time for LaVine and Wiggins. That in itself makes it a great trade.

Trash for trash equals Meh in my book.

I liked it at the time, but I would downgrade it to "meh" since Mbah Moute ended up not helping us much.

This one looks like a bit of split too. I voted "bad" but I admit, I voted more with my heart. Giving up a 2nd over all pick for a journeyman was painful to me. I felt at the time DWill was were Bennett is now. The shine had worn off their lottery pick status, but they were still young and for that reason alone someone might be willing to take a flier for something of better value than a Moute. Yes, I know DWill was recently compared to a Coke Machine by his coach. But the final straw for me was that Moute didn't even stick here so I didn't understand the move at all.

Meh.
I liked getting rid of D-Will. It needed to be done. It needs to be done again this off-season with D-Will 2.0 aka Anthony Bennett.
Prince Luc didn't really work out here, though. He's a defensive specialist and we needed more than that.
This trade didn't matter.
